PS. All I want for Christmas is a better 2008 (financially, good health for my mom, better play from my teams etc. etc.)

We get something for the house that we might want, but it's been years since we actually exchanged anything.
We don't have any kids, so our 6 nephews get spoiled more than they should. It's fun though.

Where do you live? I have a guy that does it in home up here in Ankeny (South side of Ankeny). It is a SUPER price. (No lame comments. He is up to par.) WDM. I just searched for a new place to get my hair cut and wondered upon lots of nice Salon & Spa places. They look nice! Originally Posted by ISUFan22 I'm not a gift person and really never have been. Worked for our birthdays though. I don't even think we went out for dinner!

We both came to the conclusion. Not long after we moved into our new house (just over 6 years ago) we wanted to get a new bedroom set. We bought the bed part and decided to piece the dressers, etc together later.
Came close to Christmas and we were antsy to get a dresser but were not thrilled about spending the money yet with Christmas coming soon. The dresser was on sale so we decided to pull the trigger and not get each other anything.
The light came on that one big gift we both could use/enjoy was greater than a few smaller items that were individual.
She has a orniment series she likes so I get that for her every year and she usually gets me something small. Works.

I could see this working once you get a house. I think we tried this once, and it ended up just being something more that I wanted and she really doesn't use (oh our camcorder). She doesn't even know how to use it. Originally Posted by ISUFan22 We both came to the conclusion. It can be anything really. Trip...electronics, etc.
But I would never expect this to be for everyone. Giving gifts is more fun for some than it is for others.

Practical is debateable. We've used this to buy some rather big items which we may not have needed and have been rather spendy.
Often times the gifts we'd buy would cost us much less!
But, we get something we really want, enjoy and actually use a lot.
Oh, another thing I want for Christmas - get rid of all debt! :)
