It is the policy of CK and his agent not to comment because they like the uncertainty - it fattens their wallets. That is why he is the most overpaid coach in the world.
Yeah, but that contract which pays him so much was on the heels of 3 very successful seasons at iowa. Not the case now.
Neither KF nor his agent can reasonably believe that having KF's name tossed about can possibly make him more money - at least at iowa. He's more likely burning bridges there as a decent portion of the fanbase is already calling for him to be let go - plenty more rumbling about it all.
How could he possibly expect to get more money out of any of this? Unless he's genuinely interested in going somewhere else.
No, I really don't think it is. Schiano was offered 2.2 to go to Miami last year, but turned it down. I'm sure the terms were at least that for the Michigan job. Both pay significantly more than he's currently making. Michigan can afford to pay as much as anyone in the nation. They play in the Big 10, and have way more money at their disposal than Iowa does. Hell their gate alone is 30-40k more fans per game than Iowa's. That job is just not very attractive to the current slate of 'worthy' coaches at the moment, and I really don't think it has anything to do with the compensation package at this point.
Jamie Pollard told me that Michigan has not contacted him to speak with Ferentz. Since Iowa State owns Ferentz I would be very surprised if Pollard didn't get contacted prior to Ferentz interviewing. If Michigan did interview Ferentz without first contacting Pollard should we be ticked off?? I know I would be.
I don't see why Ferentz would want to leave. Afterall, the guy is making a boatload of cash, he's treated like a god everywhere he goes in eastern iowa, and all of this for what, a .500 season? Heck, thats easy money.
