Is Iowa a program out of control?

As I've posted before, my friend who plays for Iowa says
1. Players have no confidence in Jake Christenson. He did not improve through the season. There is no apparent backup. If they had one, he would have played. Jake will have to prove to the team he can do it, and that won't be easy.
2. Players have no confidence in either OC or DC. They both run unimaginative offenses and defenses. Schools with poor talent run creative schemes and beat Iowa. The players see that.
3. Recruiting is not going good at Iowa. They have watched the Iowa State board closely to see who they can steal. This goes back to an old staff that cant connect with the recruits, and recruits like excitement with a team. Iowa does not have that.Add the Ferentz to Michigan rumors that don't help
4. The fan base is badly split. Players got booed off the field the last three games. It was ugly..And the Ferentz traveling interview show has hurt even more. Many fans want him gone
5. They have been a 500 team for the past three seasons. Are prospects improving? If they don't, the mess gets worse
6. THEY CANT AFFORD TO FIRE FERENTZ even if he goes 500 again. $3 Mil a year thro 2012 guaranteed. He is there for better or worse
7. Off field problems...need I say more?
Can this all turn around. Sure, wins will do miracles. Losses will only make all of this get worse for Iowa.

I sure hope they keep Jake Christianson. He runs around like his trousers are on fire and he throws his missiles at nobody. Please keep him starting though our game next year.

Looks like Iowa needs to hire a turn the program around artist.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

And why exactly should we care about Iowa? Let go of your obsession.

A lot of us are interested in what goes on, for better or worse, but not obsessed.

I'd be curious if Jon Miller agrees with any of these points. Jon?

Exactly for reasons stated before they are our in-state rival, recruiting adversary and some of us grew up very close to the dark hole of Kinnick and constantly exposed to their propaganda on a daily basis. It is very enjoyable to see the shoe slowly coming off and going on the other foot. Plus I have to deal with these dang Hawk stickers on 1 out of every 5 vehicles up here in MN. (Not counting the fact that it gives me more ammo to use to turn the wife to the good side.)
