Anybody see "Deal, or no Deal" tonight??
If you didn't...
This lady is down to two cases left ($200,000 and $1,000), and the banker offers her $110,000.
Ignoring all the advice of her family and sorority sisters in the audience...she turns down the $110,000, opens her case, and finds...$1,000.
Well, dollar wise, at least her tax burden will be smaller...

She should have thrown it to Blythe.

It was the banker's Super Bowl. That, and the contestant came out flat.

Take the $110,000 and what you have left after taxes you invest and in a few years you got your $200,000. It is such a simple choice and people screw it up all the time.

I don't think I could live with myself losing that kind of money.

It is such a simple choice and people screw it up all the time. I want you as my financial adviser... After taxes you would be left with about $55,000... I would like to see you turn that into 200k in "a couple years"

People are so stupid on this show. They get greedy and throw everything out the window.
What ever happened to truth, justice and the American Way? -

I am sure the producer is looking for people that fit this profile: wild, crazy, outrageous, never quit, downhome quality that have never taken a statistics course in their lives.
That way he will have a crrraaaazy person bouncing around on stage and sure to always lose the money in the end.
Cheap TV drama for the producer.
They could just call this show No Deal/No Brains

You know what I would do if I had a 110,000 dollars? I would invest half of it in low risk mutual funds and then take the other half over to my friend Asadulah who works in securities...
Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man. -

If I won $110,000, I would send it to my new friend I met on the internet. He has over $10,000,000 he is trying to get out of Nigeria. He needs a little help to get the money past the government over there. He will share it with me if I help him.
