The sale a year and a half ago at the spring game was much better. Back then we got tons of stuff at $2 a pop. Good stuff too. I got 2 authentic jersey, no numbers though for $20. They were $50 this year. Shoes last time were 5, this year, 20.
The athletic dept figured out that people will pay.

Are you serious that someone actually came to the sale in squawk gear? Don't rip anyone wearing hawk apparel at the sale. They had to know it was ISU gear up for grabs.

The wife an I drug my little brother and he wore Hawkeye gear. He's a frosh at Iowa. I hate Hawk fans as much as anybody, but I'm smart enough to keep it at the stadium/arena... unless they start it.

Ok... So your little brother went wearing Hawkeye gear?
What did you expect from people? Did you expect them to walk up to him and take a picture with him?? Seriously, I try not to talk **** to people, but you have to remember where you are and who the majority of people are.
Trust me. If you went to Iowa City the same way you would get the same treatment if not worse.
Anyone could of told you the outcome before you even left the house this morning.

Especially on the day of the ISU-Iowa basketball game, to boot.

I think over half of the clothing items offered were 2X-4X. As someone who fits into that profile, the sale is right in my wheelhouse.
A ridiculous amount of the warmups/shirts/shorts/sweats/hoodies/jackets laid out are the ones issued to football players, so those are obviously way bigger than, say, a soccer jersey.

Anyone could of told you the outcome before you even left the house this morning. He was with 3 people in Iowa Stage gear. It was not like he was "hawked" out. He had a coat over his Iowa t-shirt and nothing else hawk on.

I can be with 10 people in Iowa gear in Iowa City and have just my ISU hat on, and I'm still begging people not to kill me.
Why expect more out of our fans when the opposite team's fans can't do that same?
Heck I got yelled at in Kinnick this year talking on my cell phone that happened to have a Cyclone decal on it. People just don't care.

Wow...I'm seeing some over-defensiveness here. Personally I'm having fun with the Hawk thing, especially how we won and all.
But not everyone is.

I've gotten yelled at in Iowa City too. Because other people do it, doesn't make it right.
Yes, we are going to be defensive, he is our little brother.

Yes, we are going to be defensive, he is our little brother. If his Iowa shirt was under a jacket, I would assume that he is not who people are talking about. Unless he showed it off intentionally.

Yes, we are going to be defensive, he is our little brother. Here are my two brothers....
One is older and the other is the baby of the family. I figured they are old enough to defend themselves. If not... They should of been smarter about it. I don't stand up for them in Ames and they don't stand up for me in Iowa City.
