We are 29, he is 19. He is bigger than both of us, but I would never let him get hurt.
I guess that is my motherly instinct.

I guess that is my motherly instinct. Your going to be a mother???? They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775 -

That's all well and good you want to protect your bother. Yet lashing out at others for having fun with this and their opinion?
The good thing is, he got to see Iowa get their tails whooped in person. -

Yep, I guessed I lashed out. You are always right.

Re: Athletic Rumage Sale..
Damn, totally confused here. All this because I made a point about today being the ISU-Iowa game?
Yo...we won today...enjoy!
Unless, you're a closet Hawk fan...

Re: Athletic Rumage Sale..
The sale was WAY bigger than I expected. I figured most of the really good stuff would be gone early since the donors were let in first, but I still nailed a road jersey with my number from high school on it. I got a couple hats and t-shirts at a discount too. I thought some of the athletic stuff should of been a little cheaper but no doubt everyone bought it.
The biggest compliant: The University Book Store, who ran the event, brought in three registers. Umm...hello? They only have 500 registers ready for book sales when 25,000 people can spread that out over the course of a week. During a 3 hour event with hundereds of people, let's bring in a grand total of 3!!!
I got there at 9:40. Left at 12:00 before I was through the whole line. Was it worth it? Oh probably not. But I got a cool gameworn jersey with my old number, so why not?
And maybe there should be some sort of limit on "high interest" items like helmets. If someone seriously bought 25, that is ridiculous.

Re: Athletic Rumage Sale..
If you want helmets, the company that sold the throwback sells helmets of all Iowa State's history. They are full size and nice They will have the swirlybird soon I assume, and the prices were reasonable. Don't panic if you don't have a helmet.

I've seen the helmets, they are super. Sheels Sports also carries full size helmets, the swirlybird included.

Re: Athletic Rumage Sale..
I am sure that the goal of buying extra helmets is to resale them on ebay or something, but how much over $250 would someone pay??

Re: Athletic Rumage Sale..
$250 for a helmet was pretty steep, but people obviously paid it. Since I'm not going to be banging heads in it I will just get a replica online. I got a game worn jeresy with my #20 on it, probably take it to get it signed at Fan Fest then frame it. I orginally had a bunch of polos too at $10 a pop but decided to put them back at the last minute since I pretty much only want stuff with the new colors now...

I got a 1977 helmet online two years ago but I'll have to try to find where I got it from. I think I paid about $150 for it. It was claimed to be a "game worn" helmet, and I think it was because of a few nicks, but it's been obviously repainted so could have been a helmet from just about anywhere. It looks great in my office in my basement!!
