Kinda off topic, but I've always thought a cool idea would be a billboard that looks like a tornado just ripped through it and split it in two, with a giant tornado sculpture behind it just outside of Ames. Maybe the billboard could have the tigerhawk on it this year.

Just ask hawkfan, the Hy-Vee "Cy-Hawk" trophy doesn't mean anything. It's the major men's sports that matter, like football.....errrr, wait a minute. Or basketball.....ummmm, never mind. | A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. A Man Is What He Does When It Counts |

The only time I hear the words Cy-Hawk is coming from an ISU event.
The Hawks could care less. Unfortunetly it's a sponsor driven series that refuses to die. It needs to die if Iowa isn't going to care. It's hard to have a rivalry when one team doesn't want the rivalry...

I was a little suprised at how many Squawkeye fans got so pissed at the billboard that they put up that year. Especially right after it had happened. You would of thought they had just gotten there birthday taken away from them. Yeah a sign of ours over there but it not like it was lying about anything.

If they can put up stuff in Des Moines, then we can put up stuff in Cedar Rapids.

Wonder if we can buy advertising at kinnick next fall???
Suggestions? Hopefully the only thing that would be truly useful...win it again next year. Unless I am wrong the team with homefields in MBB and Football has won it every year Hy-Vee has scored it.

It's hard to have a rivalry when one team doesn't want the rivalry... Tell the swim team, or the gymnasts, etc that it doesn't matter. Fact is it is probably more important to them as it is one of the few times they get ANY media exposure. I am tired of Iowa telling us the rivalry doesn't matter. If it doesn't matter then they are not fans of sport. Why would you not care if you lost a match/game even if it was against eastern wyoming tech? They care. And if they don't that is their problem. I sure as heck wouldn't want UNI beating us in all but 2 sports for the entire year, and maybe they could...but my excuse wouldn't be that I don't care.

About that billboard ... remember your audience. Pictures only, Hawkeyes can't read.

As far as I know, Cedar Rapids is much a part of Cyclone country as it is EIU-tech country. It just so happens to be closer to Iowa City-BIG DEAL. We have ISU fans all over the state. Iowa isn't the only fans in Cedar Rapids.
On a side note, I always think it's funny on teh public address announcer how he always mentions "The Cy-Hawk competition which is a friendly competition between Iowa State and EIU" They always stress how it is a friendly competition, when it is everything but that.
