agreed..

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Iowa's bigs, with the exception of Cole, make our bigs look like warriors.

Thats my point on Vette

Alot on here just shrug n say oh well if Vette leaves, but he is a strong muscular guy who can bang in there, which is exactly what the team needs now and in near future. I posted elsewhere this morning about Clinton Mann and how a guy on another board saw him last night and said he was a beast, alot stronger and quicker than last yr. Hopefully he will be a Cole- Brunner type for us. Altleast add some aggresive play. A mean nasty streak wouldnt hurt either.

Count me as one of the people who really hopes he stays.

Re: Is Brackins really a division 1 player?

Brackins really showed me alot that game...I know he couldn't buy a shot, but when most players are shooting poorly, they dont have that same intensity on defense, but Brackins was different he gave his full effort on both ends of the court which made that really special.

Let's see he is a 5*, rated in the top 10 in his position, probably could have gone anywhere, starting as a freshman, but hey what do college coaches know?

Agreed we'll be lucky to keep him 4 years. I thought it was great he never quit playing D and running the floor even though he couldn't hit a shot...... Also, I noticed that he is one of the first guys off the bench celebrating when another player does well. Team has a long ways to go, however, players are starting to establish their roles. Young team with opportuntiy to improve and they are!

Yep, I'd say he was a D1 player. He has 8 D1 games under his belt so I think I'll give him a break.

If he wasn't a quality D1 player, as soon as he missed the first few shots, he would have quit shooting, but he stuck it out and didn't give up on it.

I could beat him from my couch watching him play.

Craig Brackens is definitely division one caliber player...Maybe Jake Sullivan is right that some of these really good players just dont fit the g-mac system.

Great coaches adjust their system to fit their talent.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

He's a freshman and is making improvements week to week. As long as he stays, he should be a force in the Big 12 and a major component of our offense from year to year.

I think you saw some of the players adjusting to Mac's system yesterday. I just don't get the "we don't have the right players" argument. What kind of players do we want? Nonathletic slouches who can't jump or dunk? Any player has to adjust to a system regardless of what kind of athletic ability they have. Having physically talented players just means that they will theoretically do their job even better than less athletic players. Just because some of the guys on the team can easily jump over the average poster on this site doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't play a half court game.
