Hats off to our Guys
We didn't get the results that we were looking for but the team played a good game. CONGRDULATIONS!

I agree....the staff and players did very well.

Re: Hats off to our Guys
Gotta say that I disagree. Our offense was moving well in the first, and with over a minute, and 3 timeouts instead of trying to make something out of it and score some points, we let Iowa keep the momentum they just gained with that touchdown.
Our players played hard, but I believe the game was lost when it became 14-10 and the coaches decided to sit on it.

need Darth Pollard to or Mac to come down on Defensive Coordinator or can him. this loose Defense had been nothing but failure.

Have you watched ISU defensive football other than this year? Did you forget they only have but 3 guys on the field that started last year.
The defense hurt us today...in the 2nd half with missed tackles...but as a whole...they did play better than the previous 2 weeks. This is NOT a coaching issue.

Re: Hats off to our Guys
I disagree as well. Pathetic 2nd half. it is the same crap week after week with McCarney and Co. Don't get me wrong, I am not looking for Mac's head, but I am sick of the BS crap week after week. We have not looked good all year except for the 1st half of this game. But did we adjust? No. but we sure let them adjust and get momentum. Man, this is getting frustrating.

Re: Hats off to our Guys
I think we played well... a few missed opportunities on offense that would have been easy first downs, a few missed tackles on defense that resulted in Iowa TDs. I think Iowa is glad this game is done because they know that it easily could have gone the other way... and home field advantage doesn't hurt. Nice job for the run defense.

First half was beautiful. Offense looked really good.

Re: Hats off to our Guys
let me also say: I am tired of this happening. I am tired of being 'also rans' every single year. I live in STL where all I hear about is how Mizzou embarrased us 2 years in a row. Are we ever going to turn the F'ing corner. I mean, Damn, we had so many opporutunities to win this game! ugh.......

Re: Hats off to our Guys
In my opinion, considering we went 6 of 8 before this against Iowa, I don't see how we can be tired of this happening, where as I could see Iowa tired of losing to us. And I personally don't think losing to Iowa doesn't affect our turning the corner... we can still win the north easy. Unless being undefeated for the season is the only way we can turn the corner then there are very few teams in history that have ever done that.

Re: Hats off to our Guys
Too many people on this board sound like an irrational Hawk fans. I didn't like some aspects of the game either, but 18-24 year old kids are not going to be perfect all of the time. They played hard and simply came up 10 points short. No more no less.

Re: Hats off to our Guys
I think it's common for fans to be frustrated after a big loss. I think some (myself included) have been venting some of our frustrations, so I wouldn't take any negative comments right now with a grain of salt.

I think the call was a good one. For once DMAC was trying to make something happen! How many times have we seen him make a conservative decision in those situations?! I'd rather go down fighting than watch Iowa milk the clock & we feel helpless. Good game State!

I agree PlymouthCy. Let's not be cry babies like Hawk fans would! It was a good game. We didn't get the W, but we fought hard & made Iowa sweat. It's nice to see Iowa is forced to take us seriously now. It's always a dogfight!

I also want to give the Hawkeye's props to playing a good second half to come back to beat the future big 12 North Champs.
