You are not alone. I feel the same way. I really dont like the Doors either. Some of the songs I like, but would never buy the cds.

Yeah, most of Floyds stuff is way out there. I like alot of the popular ones they have, but you're right, I may have missed the boat on the whole out of body experience with Floyd.

I don't get Floyd either but would say that Zep is far, far superior than Floyd ever was. To give an example, I am fully expecting to drop the 147.99 for floor Van Halen seats this Saturday morning but would probably not go to a Zep (or Floyd) show if I had free tickets. Weird I know.

I have a hard time paying more than 40 dollars per ticket to see anyone. I would rather see Van Halen though.

I believe the price of the Zeppelin tickets was in the $200 range and they were distributed via a lottery. Somebody paid more than $200,000 for a ticket.

Good grief. Why are tickets so expensive these days.

Because there are very few good bands these days so when a good band tours people will pay the $$$.

In the case of the Led Zeppelin concert, I'm convinced that the ticket prices were grossly underpriced based on how many people wanted to purchase tickets.

The Rolling Stones performed at the "Joint" a few years ago. The Joint is the concert hall within the Hard Rock Casino, Las Vegas. Ticket prices started at $500 and were sold within minutes.

Some bands will play for private audiences and their fee for doing so isn't cheap.

So the answer to your question is that concert tickets are expensive because their is a willing market that will pay the price.
