What if.....

I said this in one of my earlier posts about Coach K interviewing the same time as Johnny Orr. Lets play the what if game. What if Coach K did get the job would ISU be the same was Duke is now? What if Floyd stayed and we did get Hinrich and Collison? (it was rumored they were both waiting on Floyd's decision about leaving ISU, he stays, they come) What if Earl Bruce stayed and eventually handed the program over to Pete Carroll? Are we like Ohio State or USC in football? Does anyone have any other what ifs for us? I started thinking about this the other day while I was at work...(ASST Greenskeeper so when I'm out mowing I have a lot of time on my hands)...If Floyd does stay, do we get Fizer or any other of these recent good players. Does Coach K turn us around like he did Duke? Please feel free to layout some scenarios, just something I thought might be fun to talk about.

Re: What if.....

What if Jimmy Johnson had stayed at ISU and eventually became head coach.. Would we be talking about the "playmaker" right now as a former cyclone??

What if Glen Rice would have stayed commited... Would we still be talking about the Naitonal title?

What if the double foul would have been called right in the Michigan State game...

What if the mother of the student who had the camera down in Missouri had not sent her kid any money and they could not afford the camera.. Thus Larry would not have had his picture taken.. The picture would not have been sold the the DM Register and Larry would have still been our coach...

I like playing what if...

This is true, but we have missed out on a lot of breaks and I am interested in people's opinion and the one's I missed out on, like Glen Rice commitment.

Also, what if Fizer didn't go pro?

Re: What if.....

Floyd is the one that brought Fizer initially since he was friends with Fizer's mother, so he still would have been here, plus, he was here a year before Hinrich and Collison would have been.

That's right. I forgot about that. I'm slipping a little bit lately.

Yeah that Michigan State game was terrible. ISU would have won the NC that year too. Wisconsin and Florida I think was all that was in out way. Everything would have changed...

If Lute Olson had been honest with the NCAA about Loren Woods injury in 2000, ISU would have been a 1 seed and wouldn't have had to play Michigan St in the "neutral site" of Auburn Hills. Michigan St and ISU would have been a great championship game and the officials wouldn't have felt obligated to have Michigan State win.

Drizzle, Drazzle, Drozzle, Drome, Time for this one to come home

Actually, Hinrich did committ to ISU (Floyd), but decided to go to Kansas upon hearing of Floyd's departure.  I heard rumors that Collison was considering ISU, but I have no idea whether they were valid. However, had Hinrich decided to go to ISU, we would never have gotten Tinsley........which scenario do you prefer?

My dad coached against Dave Collison and while I was at an ISU Father-Son Camp. Dave was the guest speaker and afterwards they visited a little bit and the word was Nick was waiting on Tim.
