coach just talked about some of the layers that were coming in and also talked about why he hired TJ.. and the reason is simple.. Greg had known him for a long time and Tj ahd went to the UNI camps and helped out there.. and when he got the offer to run the aau camps greg told him to take it so when greg became a coach at isu he decided that TJ was perfect..
he also talked about his view of ppl leaving
w/ WIll and Curtis in his view they were good as gone if he came or not
w/ Carr he had quit b4 he was there any way
w/ Mike he was already considerin leavin b4 greg was hired because he knew he was in way over his head
so that leaves FD and Tags
RD had a relationship with Coach Morgan and only wanted to play w/ Morgan
Tags had a relationship w/ Coach M and w/ Carr and so he just didnt feel like he fitted in any more
and thats about all i remember

Appreciate the update...
Was there any mention of this year's recruiting class being completed or did he leave the door open for more to come?
I also wonder if the quality of walk-ons might improve now that McD is here.

he didnt really talk about if the class was done but from the tone of his voice it seems like we are done 4 the year and he is very happy w/ it right now

i believe he said something to the effect that he was gonna play next year with 9 scholarship players and have 4 open for the next year.
Also the connection he has to Oetzelberger(sp?) is that asst coach Rutter was his coach in college.

I'm actually pretty happy with banking the schollies, i have seen some of the players we have on the interested list and they look like they have some potential. Its nice to keep our options open.

I think having 4 open for next year should allow for a great recruiting class!

I don't live in Iowa. Could one of you guys help me out. Is Deace a local radio sports talk show guy? If so,what station would that be? Is it possible to hear a playback of the interview? Thanks

Deace is on KXNO. I believe the website is kxno.com. His show runs from 3-6 m-f.
I don't believe they podcast his show.

No, they don't podcast it, although I have been bothering KXNO to get on the ball about that. But hey, they just got an internet broadcast of it so they are advancing.
Yeah, if you go to KXNO.com, you can listen to Deace's show on a stream over the internet. I like this because I get crappy reception ont he show anyway even though I live in Iowa.

I would be happy banking the scholarships, except for the fact that we are reallly thin in the middle. We really need a big body. I'd be much happier if we had Stiggers or Love even though both have their issues.

Agreed. I was hoping for Stiggers because of the wide body.

Love has signed an LOI with UT-SA. No one really kows much about Stiggers but that ship has probably sailed. Will have 4 schollies for 2007 as it stands now and we are in on some guys who's stock is QUICKLY rising.

Did not Stiggers sign as of 17 May somewhere. Or is he just walking on after the period closes?
