Lack Of respect continues
Here is what Sporting News says about Saturday:
BIG 12
Looking good: Texas. No doubt, the Longhorns took care of business vs. Rice. And, after the league's meltdown last week, is there any doubt Texas is the class -- by far -- in this incredibly weak conference? I abso-freaking-lutely think not.
Looking lame: Pick a team. Almost any team. I'm gonna go with Nebraska. I don't care what Bill Callahan said after the loss at USC: The Huskers' attack should have been more aggressive. This was a chance for Big Red to go for it vs. the nation's best program. What did Nebraska have to lose? It's not like winning the Big 12 North is gonna prove anything.
Game of the week: Iowa State at Texas. This should have been the Big 12 title game matchup last year. Alas, the Cyclones fumbled the finale at Kansas. But there's no escaping the Longhorns' wrath this time. Too bad, because Iowa State is gonna get -- Uh, what word am I looking for? -- oh, yeah, "clobbered." Maybe the Cyclones will get another shot at Texas in the Big 12 title game -- if they really want one.
Will it never end??
Re: Lack Of respect continues
Well the spread is over 20 points last time I checked, and a 20 point loss would probably qualify for clobbering. It's not like ISU has proven anything this year anways. Two close wins and a decent game against Iowa isn't a hell of a lot to be proud about. Texas is probably going to clobber 6 or 7 other teams this year.
Besides, what comment would you have liked him to make to show ISU proper respect?

Kind of what I was thinking. Where I came from, respect was something you earn. When we earn it, we can complain about the lack of respect. Until then...

Exactly. Until we prove something. Let them talk.

Not until we stop shooting ourselves in the foot every chance we get. I can't argue with anything this writer says.
Re: Lack Of respect continues
Not until we win some games that give ISU that type respect, unfortunatley, this article is not to far off the mark.
Re: Lack Of respect continues
Yeah, that would be like respecting the C student. Boy, I respect those C's.
But, that said, once we start winning some of the games we need to win, then I'll cry about no respect.
Come on Clones!!! I'm still holding out hope that they somehow sweep the rest of their games.
Although, if we get a win at Texas, do we want them meeting us in the Big XII title game with revenge on their minds?

Yeah, I agree. Think about it like this. If Minnesota (Gooooophers) was going into Columbus this weekend, what outcome would you predict.
I think that Minny and ISU are about on the same level nationally. Yeah, each has some up and some down years, but overall, we're fairly comprable.
The problems is, we're all too close and love this program too much to be truly objective.
Like everyone's said, until we prove we deserve some respect on the field, we can't be too upset when it's not given.
Out

This is why it will be even sweeter when we shock the Longhorns and come back with a W! :Smoking:

Ahhh yeah! Lock and Load boys... "Oh, you want some of this? How bout this?"
Re: Lack Of respect continues
IMO, the almost 26 point spread is a lack of respect. I just see this being a good game.

at least people are putting their money where their mouth is. 26 is a lot though.
