And what are the rules regarding whether/how the coaches can work with the players during the off-season? For example, can the coaches work with players individually for strength training or drills, etc?
I believe that D1 can start the 15th of October. I know that NAIA and JUCO's start the 1st and I am pretty sure that D1 and D3 is always two weeks after them. As for individual workouts, I know the guys workout, lifting and doing individual workouts and such. In fact a friend of mine said the guys were having "Captains" practice in beyer hall a couple weeks back.
Captains practice involves player only practices usually ran by the 'captains' of the team. Just like player only FB practices the weeks before actual high school practice starts that the senior players led...at least we had that at my old High school.
