Who was it that said UNI had a better TV deal than ISU?
Come on out and show yourself.
Let's compare NOW, shall we?
ISU - Mediacom, ESPN, ABC, ABC
UNI - KFXA/KDSM, Mediacom, KFXA/KDSM, CSTV (tape delay), KFXA/KDSM
I can just see it now...
"Dear ABC,
We're sorry, but we have to decline your offer to televise our game vs. Nebraska in your primetime regional window. You see, we have a much more lucrative deal with two local Fox affiliates that only cover a portion of the state of Iowa.
Better luck next time.
Warmest regards,
Jamie Pollard"

I don't know when this was said, but my one year wedding anniversary was this last weekend so I missed some of the convo.
UNI had the exact same number of games on TV last year that ISU did. However you want to spin that, that's terrible and about as bush league as it gets.

True, I would agree with you there. Looking at the schedule from last season, we had three regional ABC games, against Iowa, Nebraska, and UNI. We had the bowl game against TCU on ESPN2. UNI had two playoff games broadcast nationally on ESPN2. So they were ahead of us in national broadcasts last year.
Let's face it, anytime you can even consider the TV package between a BCS conference school and a Division 1AA team, there is something wrong there. It should not be comparable, bottom line.

It was said prior to the season, when UNI's TV announcement was made -- mid-August, I believe. Someone claimed that UNI's deal was better because they had 4 or 5 games already announced for TV, where ISU had 1 or 2 at that point.
Crapola.

I am pretty sure all of UNI games are televised by mediacom on real time.

Or maybe not, I did send an email to mediacom connections 22 if they would televise this weekend's game, however.

Re: Who was it that said UNI had a better TV deal than ISU?
I never said that UNI's tv package was better than ISU's, but I did ask which package would you prefer more (not a direct correlation b/t UNI and ISU, but rather a hypothetical): http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...?t=1123&page=3 (ISU games on mediacom?)
This is UNI's first time on Mediacom for football (they weren't on Mediacom last year to my knowledge...unless their ESPN+ game last year with New Hampshire was on Mediacom). Anyway, UNI's tv schedule was aided by a playoff run, but maybe the same could be said about ISU in that you are rewarded for your play. But, as of now ISU's tv schedule is far better than UNI's, and that is probably the way it should be most of the time with one being in the Big 12 and the other in the Gateway Conference.
