Re: Jeremy a question please?

I think melkor, your being better at trying to analyze the situationthan than some have been. Like I said, I have no problem with people that are skeptical, we all are to some degree. I just want to make sure you understand that I value your input as a fan and hope that with that skepticism, you respect that other people feel really good about GMAC and are right to have that their own opinion. Right now, all we have are opinions of the job that will be done.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

How do you use the karma thing? I can see the plus and minus votes for each poster, but I can't figure out how to give those marks to anyone.

OK, I feel a "duh" coming on. DUH! There I feel better. But I swear to god, there was no applaud or boo underneath the karma thing when I was hunting for a way to respond. Then after I asked how to do it, it popped in there. What the heck, one more time. DUH!

Re: Jeremy a question please?

Where is it, Alan, or anyone?

I don't see it.

This is my first post. Do you have to post at least once to see it?

Or maybe there is some kind of bug?

It is actually fun to come here again. How refreshing to have topics that stay on topic and don't turn into the same old arguments for the 100th time. Thanks for all of your work Jeremy. This is your site and you can run it how you see fit.

Re: Jeremy a question please?

Can I take those "Duhs" back? I KNEW those applaud and boo signs weren't there before. They are right beneath the karma sign, Ivanclone. If you can't see them, there must be a reason. I was unable to see them until I posted the original question, which was my fifth post, I believe.

Re: Jeremy a question please?

I enjoyed discombobulated's opinions on everything. The guy must have been on her 24/7 to make that many posts. However, he was becoming a bore with all the negativity towards everyone and made us all think his opinion was the only one that mattered. If he is welcomed back, I think it should be with a very short leash.

Go Cyclones!!

Re: Jeremy a question please?

I couldn't agree more with Jeremy. Discom's posts... had to go. His negative talk and discussions were not of any value to other ISU fans or athletic programs. Yes, they were his opinions, but I swear he was here to bring down ISU athletics.

Hopefully I didn't offend him by saying that he could be coach Morgan's new ball boyl at whatever shool he ends up at.

I did want to ask Discom if he would swap me his parkay seats for my 5th row balcony since he thought we are going to be so horrible for the next 10+ years.

Good job Jeremy.

Re: Jeremy a question please?

Very good. Thanks Alan.

Great site, Jeremy!

On that Karma thing, someone else asked about it in the Shoutout box on your front page. So there are others with the same question.

What I see, for example, in the upper right on Alan's post is "Karma: +2/-1" but no Boo or Applause.

I am glad he is gone... It's almost like the guy hates the Cyclones... I admit the first day GMAC was introduced I was a little bummed out... THe next day I decided to get behind GMAC and get pumped up again.. There is no reason to doubt the guy... His constant bickering about him made me sick and not even like reading any post where his drivel was...

I just don't get that statement, "There is no reason to doubt the guy...". There are several very good (my opinion) reasons to doubt him. You might choose to overlook them or rationalize them, or look at things a different way, but there are reasons to doubt him, which I will continue to do until I see some evidence that he was a good choice for ISU.

If you want to doubt him, that's ok, but at least be fair and give the guy a fighting chance. He deserves that much. He has a real challenge ahead and there will likely be some rough sledding this coming season, but I am very optimistic about the future of ISU basketball. GMac will be successful; the Clones will be successful!!!

P.S. I still think Discombobulated was really an incognito WM ;D

Psyched about the Clones!!!

Guess that discombulated debate has been cancelled till further notice. Karma rules.

The manner in which he constantly bashed the basketball coaching staff made people defensive. It was a very aggressive way of instigating other posters and inciting negative reactions (also known as baiting, trolling, etc). He may not have been the first to call someone names, but his actions surely precipitated that result.

That said, I think he should be unbanned.

Yeah... nobody sent a message saying they wanted to do it anyway. Which, it isn't really that necessary anymore because, the whole reason I tried to start it up, was to reduce the name calling/personal attacks that had been going on a lot lately. I figured, in a debate, people could get their chances one on one to prove their point with facts or stats. I figured there wouldn't be any namecalling in a head to head debate and would be a nice community building event.

However, if people are still interested in starting a weekly debate. We could post a question, and the first two responders taking different sides could have the debate... and then institute a rating system where people give points for good arguments and what not... or have a way for people to say what side they are leaning toward and people can change their stance and then see which side won the debate at the end?

I dunno, I'll let Jeremy take charge of it though if people seem to be interested.

Good idea, it's actually one I'm working on. If you check back later today, it will make you give a reason for the rating:)

I like this too... cuz lately my karma goes down once each post and I think I've been nice to both sides of each arguement. Maybe I just post too much so somebody doesn't like me. Who knows.
