Just when the University of Iowa couldn't get anymore publicity in football it does. College game day goes to Kinnick. Great. That should help recruiting.
Meanwhile.... we are 2-2 and have must win game against a pass happy
1-AA team. We have a few critical games coming up. If we go 1-3 in our next 4 games there is going to be some very upset people round here.
3-5 to start the season is not what I pictured us at so our offense better step up one of these games.
I personally think we need 3 of these games....5-3 would get us back on track for the downhill part of the season.

Why wouldn't gameday come to Iowa City, they are both 4-0 and it is the #1 team in the country. ISU fans need to stop whining about Iowa on concentrate on supporting their own team, jeez!

Iowa has tradition, money, and fans, and lots of each one. It will take Iowa State a long time to cathc up with what they have. Im not a Hawk fan by any means, but I really do not like Ohio State and would love to see the Hawks beat them tomarrow. If we did not have a home game this weekend, you can bet your ace I would be down in Iowa city for this... It was going to be one crazy weekend of tailgating and partying down there(similar to Ames for the Nebraska game!), and if the Hawks did pull the upset, Iowa City would be rocking on saturday night!

The losses to Missouri in '04 and Kansas in '05 cost us millions of dollars, and maybe more in exposure! Win games like those and compete in the Big XII Championship game, and people start to recognize who you are.

If we win in Iowa City two weeks ago, and win today, then maybe, just maybe, college gameday comes to Ames. It would have been a longshot, but think about this:
1) If we beat Iowa, we may not have to suffer through seeing the Gameday crew in Iowa City. Just think of it this way, if we don't get them, no one gets them. But we lost, so we only help the fact that the crew is in IC.
2) We go into the Nebraska game 4-1 and probably ranked, maybe even 5-0 (if you think that Rashawn Parker dosn't just give away the game to Texas, we may still have had a shot, once again, a very long shot).
3) Even with all that, like everyone else says, Ames and Iowa State dosn't have the prestige that Iowa City has. You've seen the fans on ESPN early this morning, they are ravid and they will be LOUD at gametime. I may not like the Hawkeyes, but I was at the game two weeks ago and I only wish that we could have an atmosphere like the Hawks have at Kinnick, and it all comes down to the fans, if you want a winning team, if you want Gameday, you have to just completely intimidate opponents (and that goes from just the student section being loud and booing the opponents as they come in, be loud with class), the fans of Iowa State arn't there, as much as I wish they were, they arn't.

If they went to Iowa city this week,. they would not have gone to Ames the week after.
