Tonight's attendance - 55,518!

And it showed. Great crowd tonight...a record for ISU.

Kudos to Pollard, D-Mac, the remaining football staff and the players for generating excitement around Cyclone football and breaking a record!

Should be another record for Nebraska this coming weekend!

If they can squeeze the Big Red fans in, they could go for 80,000.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Whoo hoo, way to go D-Mac, you are the man to lead us. You treat a record crowd to a gut wrencher against a 1AA school. Way to excite the fanbase.
I know, I know, I know ISU, it was all the players fault that we got behind, and D-Mac's credit that we were able to come back against a school that is playing us to have 1/15th of our budget.
But by golly, we would have blown them out if we had more people contributing money to the athletic department so we had better facilities.

Wow - a simple, upbeat post by ISUFan spiralled into snotty comments and sarcasm pretty quickly. That was pretty clearly not the intention of his post - he was trying to talk about how great the record crowd was. Not a commentary on DMac, not "brown-nosing" - it was simply a positive post.

I think that's exactly it. I don't mind that people like Darts and Balls are sounding off their opinions, it's just that they hijack every thread and try to bash Mac as much as possible.

Like he reads the forums anyway.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

Not many. I don't have any sort of a number, but 95% of the Panther fans were concentrated in the visitors section at the southwest corner of the stadium. There was one small group in the southeast corner, and then very few scattered throughout the stands- probably less than 150. They took up one full section of the lower deck, plus a little bit. So maybe 2,000 to 3,000? Just a guess.

The place was undeniably packed full of ISU fans, and you could really tell during the fourth quarter. That was easily the loudest I have ever heard that stadium. It was deafening; I would have hated to be the guy trying to communicate plays in the Panther huddle.

Was the student section sold out?

Remember that BS?

Some People see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not? When I took this job I said why not Iowa State? Why not winning? Why not bowl games? Why not sell outs? Why not national respect? Why not us? Why not here? Why not the cyclone family?

It is great to see such great support being shown by the fans. This weekend should be great with the Huskers rolling into town along with the game being a part of ABC's Saturday Night Football programming. Not too many times that we will have a home game with this type of exposure. Let's hope the crowd shows the Cyclone Fanatic spirit that we all love.

Re: 55,518

Quit bashing the students, their section was full long before anyone else's and unlike every other section, there's stayed full the entire game.

Re: 55,518

So did Pollard just change how many hillside seats there were willing to sell or what. We have been "sold out" b/4 with hillsides much less full. (probably a legacy of our previous AD who wanted every one to have room for a blanket)

Re: 55,518

I personally don't think that we sounded like there were 55,518 people there. It sounded more like 48-49,000. I didn't think it was any louder than Toledo or UNLV, and definately not louder than Iowa and Colorado from last year. It was a good crowd though, and had we not played like total crap the first half, if we needed to be louder the 2nd half, we could have been 150% louder. Some fans were just bewildered that this was UNI almost handing us our @sses!

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

I-S-U!
