WOW! I guess ESPN must say what it has to "sell" this game... I hope looking back on the week Hawk fans can realize that 1) they are way over rated 2) Tate is NOT a Hiesman hopeful 3) Hawks will be 7-5 and at the Alamo Bowl 4) a pre-season ranking of 16 is way to generous considering they were 7-5 last year and LOST their bowl game 5) THE HYPE for this game was ridiculous, what game have they played so far this year made them even think they would have a chance against OSU? The 2 OT victory over Syracuse? The let down at Illinois? The fact that ISU out played them and if it weren't for a few lucky breaks in the 2nd half they would not have won? (Chandler's circus catch) or was it the beating they put on Montana? Meanwhile back in a real football world; OSU is beating a great #2 Texas team at Texas 24-7.
ISU plays a tough #22 Nebraska team this week. Hawks take note on how to be careful not to over-hype a game you probably don't have much of a chance of winning, then looking like total ***** when you loose by 21. ISU fans won't be hyping this game up ALL week and living in a Cyclone *** grabbing world where we try to act like we are better than we are. We respect our ranked opponents and don't play our games in the presses before we actually play the games. Let's let the presses reflect on the game on Sunday, and not let the game reflect on the media Monday-Saturday.
The Big 10 is weak this year, besides Ohio State and Michigan there are no other ranked teams. The Big 12, meanwhile, has 4 (all on ISU's schedule). Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that ISU has a great team either, but the difference between Iowa and ISU is that you don't see us running our mouths about how we will beat all these teams and over-hyping each game like it is the biggest thing since Ronco's spray-on hair. We will party and celebrate AFTER we win, not for the week before we play.
PS: Thanks Hawks for providing the easiest bet I have ever made in Vegas!
