Korver declares for Creighton
Kale, younger 6-4 brother of 6-8 Kyle (Creighton) and 6-6 Klayton(Drake) just picked Creighton and follows Kenton Walker as their second commitment.
He just finished visits to Creighton and Drake.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Korver declares for Creighton
What's the allure of Creighton for these guys, anyway?

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
Guaranteed 14k season ticket holders fans, cheap airport, small closeknit campus, quality people on current team, medical school for some, and Quest Center (17500 seats). The coaching staff has improved their sales pitch some, but the arena is now a big event draw. The area around Creightion is being revitalized in next ten years.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
I've seen little Korver play...doesn't show up to big games. Forces WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY too much. If I was a DI coach I'd give him a shot but but I wouldn't give him a scholarship until he proves he is a team player. I don't think he will get too much time at Creighton. The MVC is no push-over anymore and unless he dramatically makes a turn for the better he will see minimal time on the floor. My prediction, critique it if you please.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
Caleb is not bad, has good range like his brothers but if you've seen him he needs to add some bulk and is mostly a spot up 3 point shooter. I'm not surprised he went to Creighton and I think he would have been nothing more than a good bench player for us so makes sense that he takes a better opportunity.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
I have also seen Caleb play. He has a soft shot just like the older brothers and has unlimited range. He also has shown he can pass the ball. His downfall may be that he lacks strength and quickness as well as a desire to play defense. As for showing up for the big games... he put up over 35 against his cross town rival last year and went off in the second half. He could get some PT at Creighton, but is not a big loss for us. He would have had to fight really hard for PT at ISU.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
I live in South Africa for my work, and Kyle was just over her for the NBA without borders Africa camp. No way he is 6'8". Nice guy though.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
Couple things. The first two Korver's greatly improved in college versus high school so the last two's MO very well may be the same as late-bloomer'ism usually runs in families. Using a schollie on a kid like this is a risk but it certainly proved dividends with Kyle. Hard to say on Klayton since he blew out the knee but 10 and 5 as a soph was pretty salty. Certainly a good pickup for a program like Drake.
Second, Kyle is listed at 6'6 on the Philly roster and I believe this is accurate. Never believe a college program. You can usually knock off 1 or 2 inches on every kid listed.

Kaleb is 6-4 170 who may grow slightly but just wants to play shooting guard, never small forward.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
Am I correct in thinking we never actually offered Kaleb a scholarship? I believe I read in The Register that he also "considered" Iowa State and Iowa. It never said he was offered a scholarship from us.

Re: Korver declares for Creighton
We might have offered Korver soon the way recruiting is going around the nation at this point. The hot talent is going fast and the backup plan is in danger of falling appart. Too many other teams making big promises.
Actually I would suggest that Korver fit the mold of a McD player more than we want to admit. Think Ben Jacobsen. His passing and defense skuills have greatly improved in the last year and he is driven. He may not be as athletic, but he has a head on his shoulders.
Speaking of Stinnett, he has been recruited by us half the decade. It is like the live-in girlfriend who never gets married till Charly the mailman shows up one day to sweep her off her feet.
Not too much left to choose from IMO on the magic list. Looks like Alex Thompson better get good by next year.
