The offensive line play this year has been well, offensive. Of course, it looks very similar to the second half of last year when Meyer was running for his life against KU and TCU. If ISU is this poor on the offensive line this season with 4 seniors, what is the prognosis for next season? Who are some of the backups with any promise for next year?
Well, one would think that Tom Schmeling and Reggie Stephens would be the guards since they are getting PT right now. Tibbs, Schober, and Tjaden are all on the depth chart as well so that will probably be the starting line this spring. Hopefully we can get a couple standout JC o-lineman to fill the void but who knows. The o-line struggles now with returning starters: Brant, Zehr, Stephenson, and Fisher so maybe coaching has something to do with it because those men have the ability to excel.

That's cause Meyer had to scramble when he was flushed out of the pocket time and time again. Pass protection is very poor this year. And blocking sucks too. People are knocking Hicks and his running but you have to have some blocking to get you moving north and south and he didn't have a hole bigger then his big toe all night. I think the OLine is the problem that is affecting everyone else on offense and needs to be fixed three games ago..Quote:

This was one area I didn't think we would struggle with too much this year with so much senior leadership, but apparently I was wrong on this account like so many others. And it doesn't look like things will be getting better in the near future unless we find some stud O-Line coach (which is tough when the pay ain't the best).
