DEACE SAYS 2 OFFENSIVE STARTERS WOULD'VE BEEN SUSPENDED...
Did anyone else hear him say this on the Jon Miller show?
He said two offensive players would've been suspended for violating NCAA rules, but due to a rule change, they weren't.
Anyone know about this? I know the rumors prior to the season were running rampant. What NCAA rule has changed or was it a team rule that changed?

I think he's just trying to save face, because he was saying this all summer and of course nothing came of it. You were wrong Deace, just admit it.

Trust me, his sources are very good.

Maybe that would have made our offense better.

He said that back in McCarneys first few years, he would of suspended the players for what happened. For some reason, all the players had to do was make a formal appolgy to the team and they got off without suspension.

I heard him, but I don't think he said anything about it being an NCAA rule. He said it was for doing something that at one time Mac would have issued a suspension, but now with the heat on to win, those standards have been loosened. Bringing Berryman back seems to support this, if true.

Violations that under most circumstances would have resulted in 1 game suspensions at the very least.

Re: DEACE SAYS 2 OFFENSIVE STARTERS WOULD'VE BEEN SUSPENDED...
Deace says a lot of crap. He would constantly post on CN..."Did X player practice today?"..."Was X player in the scimmage", etc.
It grew tiresome...because he kept telling us he knew something yet would not spill.
So...in the end it turned out to be nothing, yet he STILL is going on and on about it.
Please Deace, can it.
BTW...if you are a premium member of CN...he did write a very, very good piece on the 2006 football team and the state of the program.

Who were the X players? And is this related to the item that almost shut this site down at start of football season? Obviously, it was not as big a thing as we were led to believe.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I'm not even going into it, as it will just further expand the speculation, etc.
The point here is Deace was not correct in this instance, yet it grasping at straws to make himself look better.

No deace isn't accurate nobody broke rules PERIOD...It is all make believe. Unless you tell us specifically what happened then I believe it is a bold face lie.

Deace was correct and it would have been two offensive starters. These TWO players got major help from Pollard, in which he cleared them from any wrong doing once he officially became the AD.
