Stevie Hicks, Bret Meyer, and Jason Scales stats all beg to differ. 4.6 ypc for Hicks, 2.4 ypc for Meyer (which is lower due to sacks), and 3.3 for scales. As a team they only average just barely over 100 ypg. ISU has very likely the most talented group of recievers ever to grace the football team. They need to play to the teams strength and just air it out. If they double Blythe drop it off to Flynn or Davis. They can win doing this. Meyer might throw the ball 40 times a game but it'll put points on the board and W's in the standings. ISU just needs to play to their strength. Stevie Hicks isn't going to do anything spectacular seeing how he never averaged over 4 ypc until this year and even 4.6 is about average in college football. Let Hicks do what he's best at, pass blocking.
What does Troy Davis have to do with it? Sure, he's a major upgrade over Hicks...but we have been running the ball well - when we're actually running it.
Our running game just looks bad because we've been playing from behind in most of our games...therefore causing us to only pass.
