We're gonna win...
I know that I’m known as a negative Nellie on this board and I probably deserve the title, but for some reason, I’ve got a very good feeling about this game. The Sooners are good but are by no means a great team. I just have a feeling that this is the week that the offense really, really clicks. It’s typical of Mac to win a game like this. When it looks like we’re rolling and going to go to the next level, we always find a way to crap the bed against lesser teams. When it looks like all is lost and everyone is ready to hang themselves, we usually find a way to win a game to get everyone back on board (then we **** it down our leg later in the year). Should we win this game? I don’t know why not. I’ve seen a lot of people posting that we’re going to get killed. I don’t think so. Sure, they still have the name, but this is a 3-2 Oklahoma team who doesn’t have the dominating defense they’re used to. They’re giving up 25 a game if you take out Middle Tenn. State and they’re scoring 26 a game. Big whoop. Iowa State 37 33 Oklahoma -

Good boy. I like how you think.

Re: We're gonna win...
McC says he wants to fix the running game which wilkl fix the passing game and the scoring game. I f he can fix the oline so we can run the ball, it will be a good opportunity.
He also sent those touchdown called back plays into the Big 12 office for review. He is not blaming the officials (do not fool Mother Nature), but he would like a review after the game is over. I am surprised that the did not call a timeout or challenge the end zone pass touchdown that ABC trumpeted as a bad call.
And yes, Nebraska has scored first in all six of their games - pretty sad when they scored against us using some of their 15 scripted plays for start of the game.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: We're gonna win...
And I had high hopes we'd get Texas. Then the players came out flat like they knew they would lose because all they heard all week prior to the game was how good the other team was and how tough it would be.
I think Mac has the old saying wrong... I believe his goes like this, "Respect everyone fear everyone."

I sure hope Adrian isn't pumped up to play in front of his father for the first time ever...

Re: We're gonna win...
He's gonna get his yards regardless of what we do. Maybe he'll fumble in front of pops a couple of times while trying to do too much.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I noticed that the Big XII reviewed the reversed TD plays and they said BOTH player were correct calls. I agree that Blythe pushed off. But the Flynn TD was a TD. How could they truly say that was the correct call. Am I missing something here?

Or maybe you just need to lay down in the end zone.

CyinCo quit hijacking threads,
On a sad note I will have to say no we won't win. I would like to win. It would be nice to storm the field and attemp a good ol fashion field goal ripping down in OU.
On a side note I bet Stevie up the middle will not work again this week.

I also believe we can win this game. I wouldn't bet money on it. If we can put a decent offense and defense on the field for 60 minutes of football instead of only half a game each, we will win.

Mac lost that challenge and so he was done for the game.....

Re: We're gonna win...
We've had the capability to win games all year. We started out strong against Iowa. We stormed back against Texas and brought the game within two against some huge momentum. Bad luck with TDs being called back versus NU prevented us from winning this game.
The team is by no means bad. They just need to put together a full 60 minutes of football. One of these games, it's going to click.
Does anyone know if Ellis Hobbs is giving the team another motivational speech? If I remember right, this is the Patriots' bye week.

Wait a minute though. Hasn't he been trying to fix the running game for the past 3 or 4 years? Has he finally figured something out to make it work all of the sudden?

Also the only time that "explosive" ISU offense has scored more than 30 points they needed 3 overtimes to do so against a 2-4 Toledo team. The only way ISU scores 30 is if Troy Davis comes back to the Cyclones for his Senior season. I hope ISU can pull it out but I'm not even willing to bet somebody elses paycheck just for the fact I'd feel guilty about losing their money.

Sure, he's a major upgrade over Hicks...but we have been running the ball well - when we're actually running it.
Our running game just looks bad because we've been playing from behind in most of our games...therefore causing us to only pass.
