Maybe I was too tough on Sweet Caroline?

Watching the BC vs. Virginia Tech game, and the BC band was just playing Sweet Caroline. Huh.

Ah well, I still hate it. I suppose maybe if our band learned how to play it that would be better than hearing the studio version over the speakers...

LOL, I don't know what song he was dancing to, but watching that, and hearing Kirk rip him for it was pretty funny.

At least it was something that ISU did ahead of other schools. I'm flattered that others copied us instead of vica versa.

Stuff that we do through PA speakers that had been done 10,000 times in other stadiums depresses me. I keep thinking "That's another Wildcat First Downnnnnn" every time we rip them off of their good idea 8 years ago

Sweet Caroline Rocks! The students sway to it - the "Cigars" Sing along - it's cool because we say it's cool. I can see it as a true ISU tradition that might actually make it past one season. If the band did it with big brass blaring - even better.

It's so corny it's cool. For ISU fans - own it, MAKE it cool. This is the kind of stuff we need.

"We can either mimic what others do, or we can establish our own ISU traditions."

KSU stole "Another First Down" from the Chiefs they didn't make it up. Don't give them that much credit.

Sweet Caroline bites, the song makes sections of the Jack comatose. If the game day people are looking for an audience participation song, how about We Will Rock You by Queen?

Nice picture of Floppy!

There are some girls that sit in front of me that dance to Sweet Caroline...KEPP THE SONG!

Yes, didn't you all know that it is Dan McCarney's fault if we do something that other schools do. Have you ever been to a high school game? You will see the same things at about every high school and it is hard to find something unique. So who really gives a rip if we do something they do somewhere else. I think that it really does a lot for the atmosphere with the Another First Down thing.

And as crummy as this one felt, Cyclone fans, it could be a lot worse. You could be a Hawkeye. - Sean Keeler (imagine that, actually quoting Keeler!)

The two songs that perked up the Nebraska fans weere Sweet Caroline and the Betty song. Fuel to the fire for the Red fans. They even kn ew the words to Sweet Caroline.

I would rather bring "Jump Around" back than Sweet Caroline. It's not a song that gets the crowd revved up.

How about playing Another One Bites the Dust as we win.

Love is in the Air? Okay, when our players are deliberately in th locker roon, the Texas Techites can listen to Love is in the Air.

Somebody also suggested to me O Danny Boy.

We have come full circle. We started talking music preseason and now we talk music post season of Nebraska game...

However, by not being blown out by Texas, I believe we have a chance to win in Norman. As Dan always says, if we could just get some turnovers.
