Does anyone know why Shirley doesn't care for Iowa State? He has mentioned it in his blog but I've never seen an explanation?
Was it because the Register had a huge picture of him crying after the 2001 loss in the NCAA?

Everytime Paul Shirley is mentioned I get flashbacks of him falling into the lane during a free throw attempt.
At the risk of offending anyone that won't recognize this as humour. Hopefully Paul isn't going Uncle Rico. Uncle Rico is the character from Napoleon Dynamite that was a middle aged man that couldn't let go of his dream of being a professional football player. I don't want to see Paul showing up at my door 10 years from now trying to sell me tupperware.
It was because of how ISU handled the Eustachy situation. He said he always liked the people of Ames and ISU though. I don't know how much of it is real and how much is just because he's a wiseass about everything.
As far as selling Tupperware I don't think Uncle Rico had a engineering degree and a writing career to fall back on!

I think that we will see many things out of Paul that will make ISU proud (just not on the BB court)
