Recruiting is going to take a HUGE HIT...

Without a new coach, the recruiting is going to suffer. I don’t follow recruiting too much, but it’s my understanding that we’re not exactly lighting the world on fire this year and are going the JUCO route AGAIN. Mac has proven that the JUCO route rarely works, so this is troubling.

Everyone parent and recruit in America will know that this is a lame-duck coaching staff and that it’s quite likely he’ll be here for a year at a time IF he makes it through this year.

Assuming he stays, he will be shown the door during the first meltdown. Since the O-line is going to be nearly all new next year, this might not take long.

What type of stud (or even decent) high school players are going to sign on the dotted line when they don’t know who they’ll be playing for or what type of system that new coach will bring? Not many will and those that do will likely come with either athletic or academic limitations.

    Let the good times roll!!

And people are right to question whether or not we can afford the buyout, but with the incredible lack of enthusiasm for the program during this critical fundraising time, we probably can’t afford NOT to get rid of Mac.

Clone2...I still have this sinking feeling in my gut that Mac will be back next year. JP will then 2 bad seasons to fall back on as the reason to fire Mac.

What in the World does K-State have in Manhattan that we dont have here in Ames? How can K-State win conference championships and we cant even get to the champ game?

I wish I had the answer!!

This will be the second really bad season within the last 4 years, I am pretty sure that should be proof enough, especially since it is the second time that this has happened with a lot of seniors domininating a team! Yea, im sure the players have some problems and it isn't all Mac, but we need someone and can be in control of his program, and it is becoming pretty obvious between the off the field problems in 2004 and 2005 and what seems to be going on in the locker room now and in 2003, that Mac just doesn't have control and needs to go or else we are going to slip right back where we came from, I think it is time!!!!! He had his 12 years, he did good, time for him and Iowa State to move on and say thanks, but we need to move in a new direction, the program needs someone who can keep control and add some fire to this team, a creative coach who can get players fired up. I mean I wouldn't be shocked to see Dan Mac next year, but I don't think he should be if we go 4-8, which I am pretty sure we will, we will only win one more game!!!

If he comes back next year, I think you can expect the season ticket sales to drop by about 30%.

A couple million less dollars in the bank would get Jamie's attention.

What game does anyone see winnable yet this year? Kansas at home possibly for the Cellar Bowl?

I really think we can/should win them all. Whether we do or not is a different story.

What hit? Have you not stated we can't recruit already? So if we're already bad at recruiting, can it get any worse? :)

But...um...without all that...if Mac is here for '07...it could be his toughest year yet to sell kids on coming to ISU. And that includes his first few seasons in Ames.

Can we promise them they can start in the oline/dline next year.

We might lose some Iowa recruits to UNI the way things are going on the recruiting front.

McD has outgained/outgunned McC on the recruiting trail and football is played first next year.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Just a reminder - JUCO HAS worked well for us in the past. He's a backup QB in Seattle who's now getting his chance now that Hasslebeck is hurt. Yes, Seneca Wallace proves that JUCO can work. He's my only example, though...

Either the whole staff stays, or they are all gone.

What OC in their right mind would take Cotton's spot knowing that Mac might be gone next year?
