What was the situation the caller on Mac's call-in show regarding the situation between some fans and an assistant coach?
Someone called in to Cotlar's show this morning and said something about this also. Said it was Tony Alford, the RB coach, that got involved in a scuffle with some fans after the game. He also alluded to an incident after the game at Missouri last year where this same fan supposedly saw Alford throwing "boulders" at the team's truck in a fit of rage after the game.
Very curious as to the amount of truth behind either of these incidents.
There is probably some truth to it. Didn't Pollard phrase it that "the coach in question had apologized today"?
GOOD!
At least some one is getting ******. I would say give Mac another year if I would just see him get ****** once in a while.
There is refernece to it in today's DSM rag.
Tony Alford was the coach.
Tony is the one coach I'd like to see us keep.

Here is the DMR article. It mentions Mac's buyout and talks about the altercation with Alford.
They also discuss JP's stance concerning Mac's assistants.
Just read the article. So, apparently a fan (or fans) said something about someone else, and Alford decided to jump in and get into a verbal altercation with that person or persons? Great job.
I love the part about the evaluations. Pollard lets McCarney be responsible for his own staff. So this holds McCarney just as reliable as the next guy because the team isnt doing well. You would think though if Mac comes back at the end of the year and stick up for all his guys that Pollard would want some say in the matter, otherwise next year could turn into another this year.
I'm ok with Alford getting a little ******. I am sure there are all sorts of idiots who like to make crappy comments to coaches thinking they can't say anything back. Technically, I am sure they aren't supposed to, but they are human.
Let's face it: We have a lot of idiot fans. He's allowed to defend himself, his colleagues, and his players. Two thumbs up.
I was the guy Tony Alford accosted Saturday afternoon. There was no cursing. I said "See you later McCarney" and was nearly punched several times by coach Alford. I regret saying that, but I've probably yelled more derogatory things in my lifetime as a Clone fan. I was willing to let it go until I read the paper this morning and the total b.s. fabrication set forth as Coach Alford's "apology". I wouldn't call myself an "idiot fan". I was just venting my frustration after another poor performance. Maybe someone needs to reign Coach Alford in before a more pointed comment drives him over the edge. For every fan offended by my statement I bet there were 20 shocked and more offended by the unprovoked retaliation from Coach Alford. I'll keep rooting for the Clones, but I think the wheels are coming off the bus.
So all you said was "see you later McCarney" and he went off? If that's the case then Alford needs to get a brain.
Well I wasn't there, but if that is all you said, then it does seem like quite an overreaction. Maybe it was the way in which you said it? :)
