Only beaten two teams with a .500 or better record

I hear the stat...

"Mac in 12 yrs has only beaten 2 conf teams with a avg winning record above .500."

Can anyone tell me the record of these teams over those 12 yrs?

Ok St
Ok
Tex
TT
A&M
Baylor
KSU
Kan
Mizzou
Nebr

I'd wager Tex, KSU and Nebr are easily above .500. What about the other 9. Seriously I'm curious but I don't have the time to get those numbers to know for sure.

Fanatic #25 - Will never think of the Disney hotel showers the same again thanks to a certain poster here.

Re: Only beaten two teams with a .500 or better record

It's Texas Tech in 2002, and Colorado last year. Sad, isn't it?

EDIT: I think you misunderstood the stat. Teams under Mac have beaten 2 teams that finished the year above .500 at the end of the year, meaning that we're better at beating teams during their bad years versus their good years.

Now that I think about it, this stat may be a bit misleading. What about the teams that we beat that had a 5-6 record at the end of the year? If they'd actually beaten us, they'd technically be over .500. A good example woul d be Kansas last year. If we beat them, they'd be 5-6 on the year, and wouldn't add to the two teams we've beaten with a .500+ record. Since they beat us, the opposite happens.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

We know texas tech is.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Baylor and Kansas may be the only ones in our sinking boat since 2000.

I originally put together the stats on CI. There wasn't one team in the conference with a worse record against .500 or better teams.

Maybe we should go over to the Big East or Big West. We are undefeated in those conferences (both 1-0).

Ah snap...I lost rep level points for this thread because someone was mad I didn't know the answer to a question I asked. Isn't that usually the point of asking a question??

To the person who dinged my rep: I didn't know the answer nor did I have the time/resources to look it up. But I figured a more stat savvy person than me would probably have that number handy.
