Re: Mr Wallace

I heard some guy on the radio today talking about the Seahawks, and he said that he wasn't sold on Wallace because he had more interceptions in college than touchdowns. That sounds like it couldn't be true. Anyone know?

Re: Mr Wallace

Its true, he had a pretty bad run at the end of his college career, when he was trying to do everything.

Of course, he had to try to do everything because he had little support around him.

Peter King's Pickem @ SI.com:

Seattle (4-2) at Kansas City (3-3)
Iowa State Stat of the Week: When Seneca Wallace quarterbacked the Cyclones in 2001 and '02, he threw more interceptions (27) than touchdowns (26). If my call of this game is right, I have a feeling Mike Holmgren will have to answer this question after the game: "Any second thoughts on having a 5-foot-11 running quarterback as your insurance policy for Matt Hasselbeck?"

Re: Mr Wallace

That guy is a jerk. First off, if you are 6'3, you can no better see over a 6'7 lineman than someone who is 5'11. Height is overrated.

As far as Seneca being a running quarterback, that is not how Holmgren has been using him, at least in preseason games. Being in the PacNW, I get to see all the seahawks preseason, and Seneca has looke VERY good, drawing high praise from local sportswriters who have written about how Seneca could start for half the teams in the NFL, and how his career compares favorably to the likes of Steve Young, backing up a very good quarterback for a few years before striking out on his own. I think the majority up here feels fortunate to have him as the backup.

There was even a small blurb in yesterday's oregonian about there being a very small dropoff in performance between Hasselbeck and Wallace. Mostly it was about how if the Seahawks don't get their rushing game on track, and play some solid D, it won't matter who is quarterback.

The Chiefs are pretty surprising so far this year. Their D has kept them in many games. It will be an interesting challenge. Since my wife is from KC, I will have to root for Seneca to do well in my heart, I think if I open my mouth I will catch a boot upside the head. Yeah, I am a battered husband.

Re: Mr Wallace

I'm starting to remember now, he did have to carry the team. I think Peter King talks about things as if he knows all about them, when what he really knows is from a quick look at the bio. Seneca has a great arm and really good accuracy. If he has a weakness, it is that he has almost too much confidence in his ability to drill a ball into coverage at times.

They had a short write up in the KC star today about the ISU/FSU game and how Wallace was in on that dive to the endzone and they also had the picture of it too.

I usually like Peter King but his predictions are pretty terrible. Last week he picked San Diego to beat KC by 19. Oops.

That said, 1st NFL start in Arrowhead is usually not a good outcome for the QB.

Never pick against the Chiefs when they are playing in Kansas City. It will be fun watching Seneca, but I wish his first start was in a more hospitable place.
