Does anyone else wonder if maybe the "Dean of Big XII coaches" title might have gone to Mac's head? I was thinking about this the other day and while Mac doesn't seem like the kind of coach to become complacent, this season seems to reflect that...
That McCarney has made it long enough to be that is a testament to both the AD's and to his coaching ability. ISU has been farsighted enough to know that it wasn't an easy turnaround, and that we needed stability. I don't see Mac as I guy who is ever going to let anything go to his head.
Fair enough. Just something I was thinking about and thought I'd check what others thought...
(I'm not looking reasons to fire Mac, just what's caused our downward spiral this season)
I think this is a pretty big stretch. Why can't some of you people just give this negative talk a rest until the season is over. If there is a coaching change it will happen at the end of the season. Right now all this speculation and flame campaigns does nothing but hurt the program right now.

I'm not trying to start any flame campaign or "Fire Mac" threads, just trying to understand why the 'Clones are so bad this season.
I don't think it went to his head at all. He'll never have a winning record at ISU. Dan may be our winningest coach in school history, but he is also our losingest as well. Sadly you don't have to look very hard for ammo.
