Josh Johnson Injury?

Does anyone have info on Josh Johnson's injury or status? There has been talk of him being banged up or possibly injured.

Josh Johnson has played one play all year from what I can tell. Does he still qualify for a redshirt if we don't use him again this year?

He has had one carry. He has been in for other plays, mostly passing down and has thrown a few good blocks. I think he blocked for Meyer in the Toledo game for a TD. I think it was a hard crunching block too if I remember correctly.

Good to hear about the blocking but that still doesn't answer about the possible redshirt. I take it he only played in the Toledo game. Am I correct in saying that he could still possibly get a redshirt?

I am pretty sure he is unable to redshirt. I know for sure I saw him in the Toledo and UNLV game.

I believe there was talk about possibly going for a medical redshirt, although they didn't believe he'd get it.

Again, according to Mac's call in show he is unable to redshirt or medical redshirt. If you play at all you can't redshirt. If you are injured and have played in no more than 20% of teams games (rounded up so would be 3), don't play last half of season, and are medically unable to play you can qualify for medical hardship waiver which is granted at the conference level. Hence, he can't redshirt since he played, b/c he is healthy he can't get medical waiver although he meets the first two requirements at this point.

I thought that I heard on one of McCarney's call in shows that they were thinking about a medical redshirt because of his injuries. Is this still a possibility?

According to Mac on Monday of this week it is not a possibility

According to sources he is not hurt. Has played in more than one game. And it seems any type of redshirting is not an option anymore.

It is not clear at this point. There were rumors that he had some health issues, but nothing official. Mac was very clear Monday that he is healthy, but didn't address if he ever had any issues.
