Weekend Prediction
Alright here goes.
ISU & K-State are statistically similar...both bad. In total offense ISU is 10th in conf, KSU 11th, score is also 10th & 11th. ISU has played tougher defensive teams. Ave total defense and scoring defense rank for B12 teams played by ISU 3.75 & 3.5, for KSU its 7.5 and 5.75. In spite of playing a more challenging B12 schedule ISU's offense is slightly out performing KSU's. Combining total defense and scoring KSU is the weakest Big 12 defense ISU has played to date. We have one mutual opponent NU that we each played at home and KSU put up 3 points, we put up 14 points. We are also the worst defense that KSU has played in the Big 12. In fact we are the leagues worst scoring defense. KSU had mixed results against the other two weak defensive teams they played putting up 3 points on #10 Baylor and 31 on#9 OSU.
Both teams need a win. Without a win KSU will likely finish 6-6. Without a win 6-6 is the best ISU can hope for. Both teams really need it.
My prediction:
ISU struggles offensively against the middle of the pack KSU defense, but benefits from defensive points (remember those) as ISU returns a turnover for a score. ISU puts up 20 points.
KSU moves the ball up and down the field, but struggles to finish drives. With 3 field goals and 2 TD's to show for their 6 redzone possessions KSU scores just enough to hold off a disheartened ISU team.
Love to be wrong and send the wildcat faithful packing in the first quarter, but thats my prediction.

Re: Weekend Prediction
KSU 38, ISU 28.
The dline cannot rush 6-6 18 year old Josh Freeman adequately and the oline has their hands full with defensive tackle Echols who bulldozed nebraska middle of the line. The two dtackles are great for KSU, it was the rest of the team that was pitiful.
Now, I do not expect us to be down 14-0 with 5 minutes gone or I will jump off my deck.

Re: Weekend Prediction
we've got all the building blocks to win this one....its just making them work at the same time. i say we win by a touchdown.

Re: Weekend Prediction
Come Saturday night all the KSU fans will wonder why they ever thought that their QB wasn't very good.

Re: Weekend Prediction
That prediction (unfortunately) sounds about right.
Also, a reminder - 7 of our 14 points against Nebraska were garbage-time scraps with under 1:00 to play.
Come on, Clones!!

Re: Weekend Prediction
That's a pretty fair assessment, IMO. I'd like to think we could break out of our current funk, but the past 8 games say otherwise.

Re: Weekend Prediction
I think we will win 21-10. This is based off nothing more than my hopes and dreams that ISU will have a competitive team these last 4 games this year. Call me what you will, but I think the coaches and athletes are too big of competitors to throw in the towel on the season, no matter what the fans say about them. Go Cyclones.

Re: Weekend Prediction
Look at all that optimism! Texas Tech wasn't a bottom of the barrel team. Yes, we did not look great but have a little more optimism over a bad KSU team.

Re: Weekend Prediction
I thought I was the only one left who thought they could win a game or even wanted the Clones to win a game. Good to see more CySt8t.

Re: Weekend Prediction
Here is my prediction. Friday JP fires coach McCarney and staff. Then after warmups on Saturday it is anounced that none other than COACH DITKA and the 85 Bears is the new coaching staff. ISU totally dominates and wins 73-0! In a postgame interview Coach Ditka is quoted "Winning the superbowl in 85 was great but coaching the IOWA STATE CYCLONES has always been a dream of mine!"
