You could say that about the CLONES if we lose: Bye-Bye Week.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Is loney spotting anything like train spotting? Good movie!

C'mon Steve - come back to Ames and run our offense! Please!

Personally, I think Loney would be a great (and realistic) choice to succeed Mac, if JP makes a change. His track record with O-Line's and running games (ISU and U of Minnesota, NFL O-Line coach) speaks for itself.

I don't know how much he had to do with recruiting, but we used to be a top running team in the B12 when he was here, with good/great linemen, and 1000-yard rushers every year. The guy can coach.

An ISU Alum, to boot.

“My expectation of Iowa State is that we should be able to win games against great football teams. If I expected anything less, I wouldn’t be here, and they shouldn’t be playing for me.” — Gene Chizik

Re: Loney spotting in Ames

I'd personally love to see him come back as an OC, but I'm not convinced he'd be the right guy to run the entire show. Maybe he's got the fire, and has connections to bring in great assistants, but him being a great O-line coach doesn't help us if he brings in a poor OC.

This is over-simplifying it, but I feel a good head coach is a lot like a good AD. Bring in the proper people, let them do their jobs, and be there to make the executive decisions.

Or bring in a coach that is more of an actual coach that knows what he's doing and let the winning speak for itself.
