PLEASE....rid ourselves of our "tired, played out player intro's." Its the same ole song...started about 5 seconds too late...it's like someone started the song and forgot to turn up the volume.
We have a new scoreboard, new video ring, plus a new sound system...give us something!
I personally like the new football intro and entrance...its a step in the right direction.
We have such an advantage with Hilton...why not get the crowd going absolutely nuts.
Any thoughts? Anyone else tired of this?

If they had to change the intro music, I'd want them to change it to Thunderstruck. I'm still sold that replacing the "Thunder!" chant with "Cyclones!" would send chills up and down my spine. Get Cyclone Alley to chant this, and the rest of the arena will catch on.
Even so, I like the current intro. It's about the only time those darn old folks will actually stand up in unison. That and the fight song. And when the game comes down to the wire. (Anyone else notice the fight song thing?)
| Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.
The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success. This is Cyclone Football. |

Thunderstruck would sound cool like that. I think they should do the strobes like the Bulls always did with MJ. That would rock the place but I am guessing it is too much for a college team.

Marquette turns off the lights and has a couple lights flashing around the arena. The place gets pretty loud and it's pretty cool to see.

| Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans… I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care… I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it… let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

Pollard said in an interview that the new scoreboard and ring are going to take some time to understand how to utilize fully. Hopefully as the season goes on we see more and more.
That would be cool though with the lights out and all you see is the scoreboard screens and the ring flashing.
