Re: Mail my tickets back??
Anyone with a paper bag on their head shows zero class and zero appreciation for what the seniors have done here.
I picture Austin Flynn looking up and seeing that considering all he has done for ISU since he's been here and it breaks my heart. Those idiots should have got beaten down.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
From what I've heard there has been a lot of tickets going back in the mail. Not everyone has a fascination with 18-24 year olds or a personal connection to the players and coaches like a family member would. It's just impossible to expect people to do so. The players are collateral damage in the world of Div1 sports when a team is falling apart.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
Grow a pair. If you are as frustrated as I am, send them back. This team and coaching staff have clearly quit and they get paid either in salary or in a scholarship to be there. I shell out over a grand between tickets, memberships, parking and gear each season-I AM PAYING TO WATCH THIS!!!
For my money I expect to see a TEAM try on Saturday, I expect to see a team at least compete on Saturday. I plan to send mine back and I hope you do as well. If you want to thank the players-buy them a beer at Welch or Element after the game and tell them you'll send their resume to your boss after they graduate.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
What no one on the sending tickets back side has been able to explain...
What more do you accomplish by sending the tickets back vs. e-mailing Jamie about your frusrations and not attending the games?
I'm eager to hear the answer to my question.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
I know that mailing your tickets back and not showing up will actually make it enjoyable for others around you. So thank you! I know that in my section there was a whole row of guys that came in drunk every game about the 2nd quarter and yelled obscenities around kids and before a play was run would think they knew what was coming and yell it. Then if it was a run they would get all excited that they were right and call Dan a bum and all kinds of stuff. That is the crap I don't want to hear. You can go overboard and say that just because I'm opposed to that, I must want to only sing kumbaya or any other horsecrap. The real story is if you have a complaint and don't like something, by all means email Pollard or find a decent way to express the frustration. Personal attacks and disrespecting the program and the kids based on the results is uncalled for. We may not have the talent, but that doesn't mean that there aren't a good number of football players busting there arse week after week that deserve an applause and especially on senior day.

It's a form of protest, plain and simple. Some people will just not attend, some will send an email, some will ***** on message boards, some will send their tickets back. You don't have to like the form of protest but it is a way to send a message. You are basically telling the AD, not only will I not give me tickets away and not use them my self, but I'll make it so no one can use them by sending them to you. It's no more or less effective than the other items listed.
Very few people can acutally say I'm going to withhold 1$ million if you don't fire Dan, if that is what you want. The easiest way to send a message that you don't like what is happeing is to not attend games. JP knows he has to have butts in the seats to help pay for the renovations project.

Effective meaning the sense that you are being disrespectful to your AD and perhaps - this type of action makes him thing twice about this fan base? Well then, I agree.
There are a few ways to show your displeasure with the current state of Cyclone football.
Some are viewed as complete disrespect to not only the coaches & players - but our AD that has done so much in a very short time. Other options would be received much better by Jamie and if done in a polite manner, you'd actually get a response.
Personally, I'd hope anyone mailing tickets back, find a box of coal in their mail the day before Christmas from the Cyclone AD's office.
But that's just me.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
First off you asked for an answer and you got one. You may not like the answer to 2+2=4, but like it or not, you can't change it no matter how much you don't like 4. What's 4 ever done to you anyway?
2nd, it's just your opinion. These guys make a lot of money. I'm not saying they need to have expletives or objects thrown at them, but sending your tickets back in the mail is hardly disrespectful. It's a statement showing your displeasure. I think the term 'short and sweet' would apply with the actions. I doubt very much Jamie is sitting in a corner crying foul in regards to people voicing their opinion in this way. Frankly, the tickets are probably being sent to a charity if they are being sent back. That's a good thing and much better then just eating them. We need to quit acting like people involved with Div1 Football are on the same level as Peewee football. These are grown men making a lot of money or getting their education paid for. I can think of a lot of ways much more maniacal about disliking the state of the program.

How is 2+2=4 relative to your response? As you so eloquently pointed out to me, wasn't your response to my question only your opinion?
Re: Mail my tickets back??
I hardly denied it being an opinion. What I didn't do is try to make other opinions lesser than my own because I didn't like the answer to a question of my own. You got an answer. If your point is to demean no matter the answer... why bother?

He answered your question and explained exactly why my tickets went out via parcel post today % JP-it is my way of showing my disgust with this football season.
Listen, I paid for the tickets, I can do whatever I want with them. So you don't like the way I use my tickets, fine. If you want to go to the game, go-I don't care-do you see me ******** about it?
I choose to look at the reality side of this-our team is pathetic and I really don't want to spend three hours getting frustrated at a team that has clearly packed it in for the season. If you want to stick you head in the sand and get more angry at those fans who actually show up at games and have an opinion-well, that's your right as well. I might not agree with it, but then again you don't agree with my form of protest: welcome to America.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
I might use the one for the Missouri game if it is announced beforehand that Mac has been fired.

So I can't present a rebuttle to your answer?
Alrighty then...
Shall we debate the definition of "is" now? :wink0st:
Re: Mail my tickets back??
I'm still at a loss as to why someone would send there tickets back to Pollard. If it's a sign of "protest", what exactly are people protesting? That the football team is bad this year? Pollard knows this, and this is why McCarney probably won't be here next year. Sending your tickets back will have no effect on the future of ISU football. The same fans that are sending back tickets and wearing bags on their heads will come running back as soon we start winning, and they'll talk about how they've been loyal fans for years.
Re: Mail my tickets back??
The one problem we have with Missouri is if Jon Davis, DeMarcus, Schmeling, Singleton, Stevie, Jason Scales, Todd (Mono) are not playing at the game, where does our offense come from? Milan Moses? And we a reengineeered secondary it will be rough. Even inspired football might not cut it. Chase Daniel throws lots of short passes and runs a lot. So I think linebackers will have to play their best for this game as ISU offense is done for the season.
