In the last 3 weeks...
Our previous 3 opponents (Tech, K-State & Kansas) have a combined record of 17-13 (6-4, 6-4 and 5-5 respectfully). These are the teams that the fans, coaches, players and media expect us to beat.
We lost to them by a combined score of 114-46. (68)
Again, in the last three weeks, we lost to Texas Tech, Kansas State and Kansas, 2 of which were at home - by a combined score of 114-46.
Lets look at our 3 tough Big 12 games. Texas, Nebraska and Oklahoma, with 2 being on the road. They have a combined 23-6 record. The combined score? 99-37.
The point difference for the 3 games mentioned first was 68. The difference in the tougher games – 62.
So we played the tough Big 12 teams better than the weaker ones. I know we’ve got injuries – but even in spite of them we should be a lot more competitive than we are.
Anyone wondering if these team has given up or not?
Dan continues to say this team is getting better, etc, etc. It's obviously not getting any better.

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
For the third week in a row, next Saturday we will have the opportunity to give a conference opponent only their second conference win in the season.
Freaking pathetic.

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
Completely pathetic is the only way to describe the effort put forth by the team and coaches this season.
Boom.....transfer the karma -
Re: In the last 3 weeks...
The players can only be as good as they are taught in combination with the confidence they have in the teacher. Three years ago, it was evident the players believed in the coaching and each other. I have no doubt that the coaches are quality as well. Sometimes, momentum develops which can only be reversed with a change.

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
Anyone wondering if these team has given up or not? A week or two ago I was wondering but after hearing and seeing some of the interviews and coaches I know for a fact this team has given up. The team has no heart, no pride, and no chemistry. This team is playing some ugly football right now. I'd love to say that next year will be better but with losing most of the offense (which isn't saying a whole lot) and no recruits worth a crap coming in it could be another long season. I'm going to try and put a positive spin on this though. Iowa State is the only NCAA team this year to beat UNI. Coach Mac should be proud of that stat!

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
Well, this team is getting worse, not better. So I'd assume if we had to play Toledo, UNLV or UNI next week - they'd all beat us.

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
I'm guessing a combined total of...
84-53

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
I just looked at big 12 sports website and ISU ranks in the bottom half of the conference on 25 of the 30 team categories they take stats for. The only thing they are first in is fewest penalty yards per game. At least we play clean football!!!!!

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
Clean, yet it smells about as foul as hog confinement building full of 1000 walking/oinking/pooping creatures.
The hogs are more desirable though - because they're worth something.
Damn, that was harsh. :(

That is because our defense is on the field the whole game. I bet we lead the conf in tackles.

Well that kind of rains on my parade. I spent about as much time figuring out that stat as coach Mac does, a whole 30 seconds. How about this for a stat then. ISU is the only Big 12 team to beat UNLV! How about that for a stat. An impressive one at that! Or how about this. This isn't an official stat but i think everybody knows about it. Iowa State is the best in the nation at underachieving. Nobody in the nation at all underachieves more than ISU!

Re: In the last 3 weeks...
ZERO wins for October.
If ISU wins again they will have to back into with special teams and defense.
might as well pull Meyer and let him regain his confidence he wont do it on the field at a game. lets see if 6-6 Van Winkle can see more downfield.
running backs might as well get the newbies some carries we lose Hicks,Kock.
anybody know if Ricky Thompson is still on the team?
dont know if its just playing kansas defense is showing some signs of improvement except for having to be on the field all day. has to be an excellent workout for them.
