Re: What was your breaking point on the McCarney regime?

It is two completely different things - losing in football and being a loser.

I want a new ISU coach just as bad as the next guy. But I will not blatantly disrespect Dan along the way.

Would you prefer blowhard over loser. You want to talk about disrespect. Plenty of history with that.

Does it make you feel better by calling our coach names? On an internet message board no less.

I think what these people are trying to say is when it comes to coaching, McCarney is a loser. by definition:
As a human being, is McCarney a loser? Probably not!

Yeah, I'm real sure that's the context he was going for when typing "loser" into the keyboard.

Clever, did you think of that all by yourself or watch too many commercials on the ISU digitron?

Don't dance around what you meant, anyone with 1/2 a brain can see it was yet another attempt at a childish, disrespectful comment toward our coach.

Yeah I got that from a previous argument he told me I was having. I was simply trying to make my point, not trying to argue, and I was told by him I was arguing. Obviously there is alot more I need to learn about myself!

In terms of being the victim of his own success, I totally disagree. Now he will never turn down the chance to tell EVERYONE what a solid program that he has "built," but there has been no real success here. One 9 win season, and the rest 7, there is nothing excpetional there.

There are a lot of teams that win 6-7 games, especially with the preseason schedule that guarantees 3 wins every year (Toledo, UNLV, and UNI were set up to be sure wins, and as lousy as our conference is, ol' Dan thought he could get three more).

What Dan McCarney is the victim of is his own spin. He has spent years telling people how much this program is grown. Well after 12 years, here we are looking at another winless conference season, the second in four years. OK how does what does that show for the overall strength of this program???

He had to REBUILD the defense. After 12 years, if you don't have recruiting in place to have at least some continuity (injuries, and attrition happen to everybody), then you have done a BAD job managing your program.

Next year, you will have to replace 8 offensive players that are starters, or key contributors. He is having to rebuild units on the run, and he has been here forever in coach years.

Where is the "great" job??? Please inform me, I will be interested in the responses.
Careful Darts you might be on to something here!

As for me, I could probably put together a top 25 list of times when I had kicked Mac out of my life, only unfortunately to see him show up at Jack Trice stadium every fall. Almost wanted to ask the poor guy what he was doing there? But now I don't have to worry anymore because JP will take care of it.

Many people are great human beings, just not great leaders and or coaches. Let us not confuse the two.

What I still can't figure out is how in the world they are screaming for KF's head in Iowa City and we can't even remove someone who has never won any conference title , division title , new year's day bowl or pretty much anything in 12 years.

Ah that's right...expectations/results...what is this the private sector?

Re: What was your breaking point on the McCarney regime?

It was the Nebraska game this year that confirmed it for me. They were the first evenly matched conference team we played this year and that game really proved out how the offense had taken several steps back. The defense looked pretty good in that game and gave our offense plenty of opportunities. Then the string of blowouts started.

Being a little dramatic don't you think?
What was that you said earlier about being disrespectful (hello pot, this is kettle) You must not have even 1/2 of a brain cell then.
