Re: KSU squeaks one out
This guy has been on the national radar since 6th grade. Sports columists are reporting that his talent is equal or exceeds Lebron James. On Martin Luther King Day in 2006, more than 10,000 fans came to see him play. In February more than 16,000 fans came to see him play. He was considered a lock to make the leap into the NBA until the collective bargaining agreement curtailed those plans.

Re: KSU squeaks one out
If KSU is successful in recruiting Mayo they will have the number one and number two ranked (overall) players for the class of 2007.

Re: KSU squeaks one out
Actually, having to many GREAT players doesn't always work. These guys are all used to being the man (typically) so chemistry could be a major issue. Nice problem to have though. KU will always be good/great. I don't worry about them.

Re: KSU squeaks one out
KSU can suck it. Just because you land top recruits, it doesnt make you a good team. Look at how many great Duke teams have been put together just to choke. It happens all the time. How was George Masons recruiting class? Anyone hear of that at all? Probably not and look what happened last year. I dont buy stock in recruiting numbers. Huggy still is yet to prove himself at KSU. For all we know, he could deflate the hype in no time.

I recall that there was a player from a prep school that the prior staff was recruiting, and then they suddenly stopped recruiting that player. The rumor was that the player and his sponsor were looking for a little something extra (wink, wink). Guess who he ended up signing with. This was all internet rumors, so take it for what it is worth. We all know that Huggy's just a great guy that would never be involved in any unethical behavior.

Re: KSU squeaks one out
I know Mayo is considering KSU, but I doubt very much he goes there. Even if he does, no big deal, hes going to the NBA in a year. Even Walker maybe a year and half then to the NBA. Its going to be hard to build team chemistry out of that group...
