Has anyone heard mac linked to MI St. job?

A friend of mine swears that he saw somewhere on TV that Mac was rumored to be a top choice for the Michigan State job. I can't believe it and told him so. Bottom line: We couldn't be luck enough to have Mac hired away and if MSU was looking at Mac, yesterday had to impress them.

...your friend is correct (I think) I haven't heard it myself, but I did hear some guys mentioning it at the grocery store this afternoon. It didn't appear to be a joke to them.

I don't think many Div. 1 schools would look at McCarney for a head coach position. At least not many in the BCS conferences. Possibly as a coordinator though.

Michigan State has a short list but Mac is not on it

A ton of rumors. Right now this is all we know.

- There are some open coaching positions in college football.
- More positions will open.
- Dan McCarney is our head coach, today.
- Our football team stinks.
- Indianapolis vs. New England is very fun to watch.

Your friend needs to get his story straight. Mac was actually being considered for Coordinator of Spin Affairs at MSU, not the head coaching position. Just wanted to clear that up.

I've also heard that Michigan State is going to can Tom Izzo in the hopes of hiring Wayne Morgan.

I saw it on CSTV last week, they have a weekly college football show. I think Trev Alberts is on there. Anyway, they were talking about the MSU opening and Mac was the first of three or four names they mentioned as leading candidates. Other than that one instance, I haven't heard it anywhere else.

Well if it came from a guy whose network employs Trev it makes more sense. Only fools would hire that clown.
