You need a running game to be good. You can't rely on a passing game. And to have a good running game you need a good offensive line, not just a good back. Hopefully Marc Farley and co. will be able to construct a line before next year starts.

that and defense wins championships.
oh, wait, last year didn't necessarily prove that true
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
I think you need blocking, any blocking, before you can worry about running or passing.
Very true. And the topic of the post is very true too. Mac's best teams could pound the ball and do that even at the end of the game when they needed to run off some clock. As far as running backs, I really liked Stevie but he just didn't have that breakaway ability. It's nice to be able to run over a guy or two, but you have to have a back who can take one the distance, or at least 50 yards. Troy Davis had a lot of 2 yard runs, and he would have 12 carries for 30 yards, and then he'd break a couple and it would be 15 for 80 yards. That really makes the defense look. Right now, teams don't even flinch on a play action pass.
