When is Pollard going to do something to earn his pay?

Talk about just sitting on your *** and collecting a paycheck. Pollard is exactly what's wrong with the American worker today---content to collect a paycheck while offering as little in return for it as possible. Only when the bossman has had enough and cracks the whip will Jamie feign work or even mild interest in Cyclone Athletics.

He's getting paid a lot of money to put his mark on the ISU program and to date, all he's done is fire the men's bball coach, wrestling coach and football coach.

Why has Bill Fennely gone unscathed, I ask? Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but to date, the rumors of Fennelly listing his house with a realtor are just that. I drove by, hoping to get a bargain, but alas, no sign, no moving truck, no nothing. We won't be getting our $$ out of our athletic director until he personally begins to wrap the Fennelly fine china in newspaper.

Come on, Jamie. Do something. Get involved. Take a stand for crying out loud. Earn your keep. Act like you give a rip.

I hope you're joking. JP's not like the ultimate fan who says who stays and who goes. There's a lot more that goes on behind the scenes.

Well, one thing can be said for sure. It's his program now. His career will live or die with the success of Iowa State atheletics over the next few years. There's something to be said for decisive action, whether I agree with it or not. He's made two good coaching choices so far. I hope he can do it again.

It's amazing to me that Pollard comes in and finds several problems within the ISU Athletic Dept and acts while others before him just let them fester until they were so out of control that all the damage control in the world couldn't stop the crap-storm that ensued.

I'm not 100% sold on Pollard ( I think it's too early to rate his hires), but I do appreciate his immediate action when he thinks something isn't right.

When I first read this I was like "what in the *#$& is he talking about?" Glad it was written with some sarcasm. If anything Fennelly should be given a lifetime contract. He took a program from about 50 people coming to a game to about 10,000 and now on the national map as a consistent winning women's b-ball program. He's had a few rebuilding years but for the most part ISU women's b-ball has been pretty competitive most years when there used to be a time that people did not even know ISU had a women's b-ball team.

the moves he's made and will make in the athletics department will surely make Pollard a legend at ISU.

lets just hope that we will be talking about that when we speak of Pollard 20 years down the road.

Yeah, lets not get too ahead of ourselves yet with Pollard. We won't know the outcomes of these changes for years to come. It will definately leave a mark, what kind of mark is yet to be seen.

Yeah the guy certainly has guts. He's either going to succeed big or really flame out.

We're going to have live with his choices for years to come.
