What I want in a head coach.

1. Someone who is thinking what play he wants to run two plays from now, not someone who is yelling about the last play.
2. Someone who is very strong with either offense or defense and will effectively be the coordinator of his specialty.
3. Someone willing to take risk.
4. Someone who adjusts their coaching to fit the ability of their players. For example, if the OL is not dominating, not constantly running up the middle on 10 strait third and one's.
5. Someone who will look back at previous games and change their tendencies once in awhile.
6. Someone who will prepare a game plan to attack the other teams weaknesses.

There are several more, but this is a start.

I just want a coach that allows us to play solid football. Someone who has playcalling that allows us to maintain drives and not be predictable. A 4 star recruit here and there would be great!

I get what you are trying to say, but I don't want a coach to know what play he is running twos plays a head. I want them to be able to make a good decision in the 10 seconds before the next play on what to do. Scripted plays never work. I want adjustments throughout the game. I want them to see a corner biting on the slant, and then go deep three plays later, etc.

i don't want coker within 130 miles from Ames (that leaves coaching at iowa in the argument). he took a national championship-caliber program and drove it into the ground. at least mccarney took a program that was rock bottom and brought it to mediocraty instead of taking something at such a high level and sinking it

Someone with STRONG ties to the state of Texas. The only way to climb the ladder in the Big XII is to recruit better. And recruiting in the Big XII means recruiting Texas better than we have the last few years. The next guy MUST have some connections to that state!!!!
