Sure we are entitled to the flash in the pan 8/9 win season. But we should be satisfied with 6 or 7, and realize that occasionaly 4 or 5 is a REALITY.

Should we be better this year. Sure! But we are not and I think this is a RASH decision.

BTW- is anyone working today?

So, by this and your other posts, how are we ever going to get 5000 fans that meet your criteria, let alone the 50000+ to get to the next level?

By the way, KSU did it with a smaller stadium (its bigger now, AFTER the success) Louisville (and WVU!!) is doing it now with a smaller staduim, etc, etc, etc.

It is mindboggling that you are calling out the fans of ISU?

as much as i want to go..i cant..i have drill for the national guard... but i have 1 ticket... hill side....first person to email me can get it... i will say $5...and the only reason i am charging 5bucks is cause i just got a speeding ticket....

VII_Fe......this whole thread is pointless.
Let me say one thing though. If the announcement of Mac leaving leads to a packed house, then this is good for ISU in many ways.

To send off the seniors properly
To send off Mac properly
Creates revenue for ISU
Creates a great atmosphere which may persuade those you call "Bad fans" to pony up in the future for season tickets
May help us win the game
Shows a prospective coach how great the fan base is here, and how much support he can expect from us.

I could go on and on, but I have work to do. :)

If you do not reconsider your opinion after reading this list of positives, then IMO YOU ARE NOT A TRUE CYCLONE FAN!

I won't be back to tell you that, unless we do something like hire Wayne Morgan to replace LE (Huge mistake) but now I support Coach McDermott.

I will support the next coach and the next team. Just think that this is the wrong decision.

I don't feel great about it either, but I don't see why we need to be verbally berated because some people want a new coach. There are reasons to keep him... and there are plenty of reasons to move on. Dan's had plenty of opportunities here, and I think he would even say that.

Bryce I agree. And I am not verbally berating those people, unless:

1. they claim they are fans and will NOW go to games because Mac is done

and

2. they believe that hiring a new coach is the "key" to the doorway to the "next level"

I believe this is the wrong move, as a Cyclone fan I won't be rooting for us to lose so I hope I am proven wrong. But as a fan of a BCS conference team with the smallest athletic budget and smallest football budget, I don't believe we are going to the "next level".

We will have good seasons again, 8 or 9 wins. But we would have those season again if Mac was still the Coach. Hopefully we will have many more.

The quote attached to your posts (at the end) I believe addresses the same issue.

Please delete the thread. I was and will continue to get under the skin of the people you fall into the category I previously mentioned, but I believe good Cyclone fans are reading way to much into what I have written.
