    While I am excited for the future possibilities for Cyclone football, I am saddened things for Dan McCarney had to end this way.

    It should be an emotional practice today.

    Good post, 22. I think that's how we all feel. Sad for Mac. Great coach, better person.

    With that said, I am really anxious for ISU to prove the DSM Rag wrong by going out an hiring a great coach that can take us to 9 and 10 win seasons.

    I don't know how we could keep any coaches around, I'm sure the new coach would like to hire his own staff.

    ISU 2000 ........Thanks for link Interesting that with 2 games to go JP is forcing the issue. Frankly, I'm glad he didn't wait as many reported to end of season.

    Let's move forward, get a real head coach and move the agenda. Players hopefully will react with some real hard nose play and send him out with a win or two.

    Obviously JP has an idea or is prolly already close to hiring a new coach, otherwise I don't think he would have done this. I know we weren't doing so good with recruiting, but its going to make things tough now with not having a coach to go recruit players.

    i'm just glad mac is stepping down instead of waiting to get fired. the final sign that mac is a class act.
