Chance we keep Mac as a Cyclone?

Is there any chance we could keep Mac as a Clone. Like many people, I love Mac as a person. I think he is a great leader and a very classy person. I just don't think he is a great football coach.

So, is there any chance Pollard could do what he did with Bobby Douglas, and move him into some ***. AD or some marketing position. Obviously it would be a huge paycut for him. But it would be nice to at least offer it to him. What are your thoughts?

Imagine walking around the Jacobsen building after being fired from you job as the head football coach. Now you are a paper pusher just because people feel sorry for you.... No way in hell Mac will go for that!!! He had a pleasan't career here in Ames and now will move on and be a cordinator at some other school. Mac and ISU will part ways...

my guess is if alvarez becomes the AD at miami, he goes there, or he follows vande velde out to stanford

I could see Mac coming back in his retirement year (many years from now) and maybe doing some fund raising work with ISU, but other than that I really don't see it happening.

I would say the chances of this happening are about as good as mine becoming the next head coach of the FB team. Mac is a coach and I'm sure he will land on his feet at another school.

I would really like to see him stay around...as a person he is great for ISU...as a coach...not so much. However, I don't think he will stay around. He will coach somewhere and some team will pick up a great guy.

Bob Bowlsby is at Stanford, and I think Mac would have a shot out there. I would like to keep him in the department, but I don't think he is done coaching. I wish him the best of luck and will continue to cheer for him in the future. Good luck and thanks Dan.

I would have loved to see him appointed assistant AD. The man is a promoter of the first order. But Dan is a guy that should be coaching. He will move on to another school, and he will succeed there too.
