Re: Dan Hawkins Take on D-Mac

Hawkins said alot about injuries and such. Well, maybe that would be a valid excuse if you were decent in the beginning, lost some players and then struggled. This team was bad from the get go. 3 plays away from 0-10, right?

I am sorry that your actual performance is measured and used to calculate a return on investment for the program. Oh, wait, no I am not. If you get paid 7 figures to do a job, you had better produce, especially a job that is so easily measurable. It's not too bad, it is the way it should be.

Re: Dan Hawkins Take on D-Mac

I have moved on. I don't think you need to feel sorry for the guy. He brought alot to ISU and took a bunch of money. It was a good deal for both, it wasn't this season, and now it's over. It's not too bad, it is the way it should be.

I don't feel sorry for Mac because he will move on and succeed elsewhere.

Re: Dan Hawkins Take on D-Mac

One, nobody should feel sorry for a college football coach who is 30 games under .500, and loses his job. Dan has made millions of dollars at Iowa State, and I am sure the money will spend whether he is the coach or not.
Two, it remains to be seen if Dan will get another chance, again look at the tapes, the poor fundementals, baffling coaching decisions, etc.

I believe that he will aggressively pursue another opportunity as soon as possible, pull all strings to try to get a job, but will there be an AD ready to hire him as a head coach???

He may get another shot as a coordinator, but I can't see a head coaching job for years.
