    John L. Smith a candidate?

    CNNSI.com is reporting that John L. Smith is cadidate for the job. Their info came from the Iowa City Press Citizen.

    I fail to see how Smith would be an upgrade over Mac? At best it would be a lateral move. I dont see this one happening.

    no way that happens...the source Press Citizen is reason enough to believe this is false. JL Smith is nut job and we would not have success with him here. IMO

    I better be a candidate for the job before John L. Smith.

    The beef against Mac has been his gameday coaching decisions. That's about my lone reason for wanting Mac to be replaced.

    We've seen this season at least as bad of mistakes by Smith, if not worse. Anybody see the Notre Dame game?

    The only place this is even mentioned in the Press-Citizen, is in this column, and it's just a guy pulling names out of thin air. One would hope that SI would have a little bit better sources and editing than to base anything on something like this.

    Looks like the SI link is more of a "rumors" column than anything. Nothing different from what we do here. ;)
