The box score indicates Pierson didn't start; played 13 minutes; scored 8 pts and got a couple of boards. Can anyone who saw the game or who knows her comment on how she is? I assume from the limited playing time that she isn't fully recovered.
“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads
Rachel was kind of tentative, but displayed so strong moves and a good touch at times. I won't say we saw flashes of what she can become, but for someone coming off an illness and being out a year it was a reasonable start.
Wieben has really improved from last year. T. Ross also surprise me. She is very solid and I think will compete strongly in the physical Big 12.
Allison Lacey played extended minutes and seemed a little lost at times at first, but settled down and played good ball. She was one of our most effective passers into the post. She didn't look for her shot at all, which as a guard in B.F.'s system will be a must, but did take and make a late 3.
I also really liked Mossman. She is very quick and reminded me of a cross between Meddars and Frese. Very good ball handler, smart player. I sat behind the bench about 15ish rows up and she was always the player leaning in trying to catch everything coaches said during timeouts. Very intent on learning. Defensively she has the physical tools to be a good perimeter defender, but was frequently beat on drives to the basket. If she improves her positioning she can be a good defender as she is very quick on her feet.
THere were quite a few stretches of the game we had four freshman on the floor as BF tried combinations and worked to get the youngins experience.
I also noticed we have a transfer from Creighton that is sitting out this year per NCAA that I had missed. (Get this she has jet black hair - not sure how that slipped by Bill F.)
Genesis L. played late and is very athletic with good hops, but is very very raw. I would guess she will not play meaningful minutes for a couple of years, but if her development catches up with her athletic skills she could be a big contributor.
Meddars looked very good.
Team seemed to have very good chemistry and have obviously already bonded.
BTW - There is a new women's basketball term that was produced last night, nick-named "Hot 2 Hot." This term refers to the Florzak, Mosman combination. Not only are the two ladies very good looking, something good usually happens when one passes to the other (AKA Hot2Hot!!).
Both Mosman and Florzak will contribute quality minutes this year.
My favorite thing about Mosman in last nights game was there was one time out called by Coach Fennelly, where I think the only purpose was so he could yell at her. She listened the whole time - didn't sulk - and went back out and again and did her job. In summary, she appears coachable.

The are both very good looking, but of course they only have head shots online. Are they as hot from the neck down as they are from the head shot?
