I think when I read a scouting report on Taggert, one of the lines questioned his work ethic. I ignored it at the time, as did most ISU fans, because his skills just seemed so great.

In Ames, his work ethic and lack of commitment led to his demise.

I don't see anything even remotely close that suggests Brackins has a work ethic issue. I think this kid will be a very special player for ISU. I'm not anointing him a future NBA star, but I'll be very shocked if he's not one of our best 2 or 3 players from '07 to the day he departs.

That's almost a double-edged sword these days. I hate the 1 and done players. You don't even have to start for your own college team (ie. Zac Randolph of Michigan State) and you can still be a lottery pick after your freshman year.

right, i agree. I dont see him putting up numbers like this in the big 12 all the time, but i do see him making a huge difference in our win column with the team attitude and bruising work ethic

The boys varsity basketball team defeated Lee Academy in their home opener, 114-73. Brewster jumped out to a 66-33 lead at the half and never looked back. Brewster was led by Iowa State-bound Craig Brackins (Palmdale, CA) who had 28 points in the first half, including 6 three-pointers. Brackins finished with 32 points and 12 rebounds. Brewster's defense during the opening 20 minutes created numerous fastbreak opportunities. Terrell McKenzie (New York, NY) played outstanding defensively and contributed 15 points, while Creighton-bound P'Allen Stinnett (Las Vegas, NV), Matt Hornbuckle (Westlake Village, CA) and Emmanuel Negedu (Kaduna, Nigeria) all added 12 points in the victory.

I really don't like this part however... yeah... great... he can make three pointers... because he's taller than a lot of the guys he'l playing right now so most of his 3 point looks shouldn't be too tough when the guys defending him aren't as tall... I want to hear how he scored 28 points in one half down low... where we NEED him. Still excited about him... but I'd rather our guards shoot threes.

I agree with you somewhat dbroncos, but I would like to have the guys who can make shots shooting the threes, and if he can hit a high percentage of them, hell, let him jack them up.
